This is an absolutely beautiful photograph! I love the way the background so eloquently blurred out, it's got that perfect amount of blur, not so much that it takes over the shot, but not too little that the background is distracting. What ISO options do you have on your camera?

If there one portion of the background I really like, I'd have to say I'm going with the right side of it, even including some of the rose's [it IS a rose, right?] leaves. It's just so wonderfully dark there, that there's practically a level of comfort within it =]

But as for the rose itself, I truly love it! The color is absolutely striking, so pure and innocent! Did it smell a lot? I can imagine it did once =]
I love the angle of this shot too, because it really looks as if the flower is reaching up and up and up and that's quite a neat thing to capture!
The way the petals have that light curl too, that folding look, that way it moves around itself, as if it is hugging itself, gosh, it's wonderful. And interestingly enough too, it looks as if the smallest touch of the ends of the petals are beginning to die, almost forming a whole new idea to the photo itself...

Why is it that you wanted to take this photo?
I think the lighting that you used here was fantastic, although I'd be very curious to see what would happen were it somewhat lighter or somewhat darker.
