Description
Exceptional cold on top of Sulphur Mountain above Banff, Canada.Temperature was about -30C, with windchill about -40C. The air was so cold that inhaling through my mouth made my teeth ache as if they were about to shatter.
My Nikon D850 was gradually dying from the cold...AF was losing all accuracy, LCD screen becoming increasingly unresponsive...
As the evening wore had to put away the Nikon. Fortunately the Fujifilm 50R kept working just fine. A fully charged battery suddenly died but I had a warm spare.
The camera body was so cold that touching it with bare skin was like being pierced with thousands of burning needles.
