Sorry - some of you had difficulty seeing this. I'm not sure why. I couldn't even see it on my page, so don't know what went wrong.For those of you who couldn't see it before, this is a pencil drawing (2B pencil on bristol board) which has not scanned well. I will be putting this up properly (it is actually quite realistic) when my other half can take a photo. Should be able to do prints then too.

I used a torchon to grey up the area and then used a cheap eraser, chopped into slithers, to wipe out the white strands. Then I gently penciled along the sides of them to strengthen the contrast and tidy up. You asked!

Thank you. So far still looking at stuff. Spent a lot of time getting my website up to date (finished a couple of days ago) (www.pennygerken.com)
But saw recently a bloke who does watercolour portraits in the sunday times and thought I Can Do That. And Better. So am now putting together a page of those (Celebrities) because other papers might be interested. Once that's up, I shall start sending out my website to all and sundry.

I have noticed those in the sunday times. Yes it is great idea to try the same thing with other papers.
I am fine and still developing my style. I am thinking around how I can start getting my art more out there. I am not really looking to make lots of money at the moment. I am thinking of trying for a couple these open exihibitions. The Art Sway one is coming up soon.
