Description This is a watercolour of the bay at Tintagel - it was a cold October day, but the sea really was divided into those wonderful strong colourisations.

Camelot Castle is at the end of Tintagel - on the cliff. If you've not been there you should - they give free stays for artists. Ask me for details or go to their website. There's no catch.

Oh, at the hotel? Nice!
Going down to Cornwall is a hopeful plan for some time this year.
Love it down there, the landscape, the places, the ice cream!

Again, Beautiful water color work.
May I ask, how did you do the little brown spots on the sand?

Mad-Margaret In reply to Burdfeet [2009-08-01 23:21:45 +0000 UTC]

The spots are just watercolour spattered by running the side of your thumb nail down a toothbrush covered in the desired colour. I normally start with a pale colour on top of a dry wash - then more layers of spatter each getting darker and a little less. Practice on a bit of paper first and you'll soon get the hang of it!

Thank you - it's a really pretty place, but it was really cold. My hands were frozen and sitting on a rock didn't do me any good either!

Thank you very much - it was a bitterly cold day and after about an hour I couldn't feel my hands any more!
