Yes folks, Crazy Christine did something crazy to draw this… which gives her too much excitement.
Okay, okay… I need to say this: Am I the only one who see that both Victor VD and Once-ler (The Lorax - 2012) are similar?
Well, here’s this:
- Both are tall and lanky, with similar flipped black hair
- Both awakened the titled characters (Corpse Bride and the Lorax) from the trees (dead or trunk).
- Both have musical instruments (guitar and piano).
- Both did hurt the titled characters, and realized what they had done.
- Both have weapons (fork and ax)
Oh, and did I mention that both of their mothers have fox-scarves. vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/c… vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/v…
Come on, guys! I’m not going to be the only Fish from Dr. Suess’ work who would be either “1 Fish, 2 Fish, 3 Fish, Green Fish, etc…..” Just say something! I mean ANYTHING!
*Clearing throat* I'm fine, just need to relax.
Now, I know some of you guys are going to say that “The Lorax” was based on a book from Dr. Seuss’ works, after the 1972 cartoon. Just because the Once-ler was supposed to be a mysterious guy in Seuss’ works. The answer is this: understandable.
Also, I know some of you guys are going to say something like “but Oncie looks more of a Jack Skellington and Luffy” because of the similar features. Though, I found him more of an adult version from Walt Disney’s Pinocchio because he was supposed to be naive in the movie, but fell in his mother’s temptation for Greed (while the Lorax is supposed to be his Jiminy Cricket).
Another strange thing in the fandom was that most fanarts of young-Norma wiggins has light curly brown hair and small curvy body. Then again, young-Norma does seem similar from Victoria’s (who have also curvy body and light brown hair with curls on her head band), which it was really strange. o_o
I know that the Lorax film didn't show the young version of Grandma Norma. However, we may not know what is Ted's granfather is, from his mother's side. So the only clue for Norma was the brown hair from Ted's mom.
I know… really strange.
But that’s just me, since I found Normaler is similar to Victor+Victoria.
After all, Dr. Seuss inspired Tim Burton (along with low-budget/Vincent Price horror films, German Expressionism, and Disney’s “Legend of Sleepy Hollow,”), and then Tim Burton’s works inspired both Blue Sky’s “Horton Hears a Who” and films from Illumination Entertainment (that explains why Gru reminded me of The Penguin from “Batman Returns”). Talk about Vice-Versa.
Then again, maybe that explains why the Once-ler is my fave. After all, Victor Van Dort inspired later characters in most films, besides the Once-ler: 9 from Shane Acker’s 2009 film (also my fave), Eggs from “Box Trolls,” Manolo from “Book of Life,” George from “Paperman,” etc…..
Anyway, enjoy.
PS: Just to let you know, all the drawings were done in Corel Painter 12 because of the pencil brushes.
