I'd actually only seen it once, so I have nothing to base it off of. I guess that's good for experimentation!

This has been VERY cool to watch progress since you first posted the line art- how did you do the coloration on it?

it's a process called digital chine colle; I first made a tracing of my etching, then transferred it to watercolor paper. I then painted the image with watercolors. I scanned both the painting and the etching, and by layering them together, I created a registration system. Then I printed the watercolor onto kitakata paper using a large scale ink jet printer. After that, I inked up my etching plate, moistened the kitakata, and placed it on the plate, moving it around until the images lined up. I sprinkled wheat gluten onto the kitakata and put printmaking paper over the top and ran it through the press, and that is how that image was made.
