Another version of a design for Beau Monde challenge 6.Inspiration: Balenciaga Spring 07 [link]
Some things about my POV: Youthful, modern, comfortable; "urban warrior" (see my whole MUSE thing, if you're curious about that); mathematical shapes/patterns, and a touch of sci-fi influence.
Also, I am obsessed with boots, and like the look of leggings under a long shirt or short dress.
It ties around the waist with a gold ribbon now, as bows/ribbons are very me
.The back of the vest has thick chain/belt things on it, reminiscent of [link]
EDIT: Changed the jacket back so it was more similar to the original vest. Also, added some detail shots for how the vest works, for those who were confused, with views of the ribbons tied and untied. Additionally, Those chainbelt things on the back come around further, so you can see them a bit from the front.
I'm keeping the other version up because I like it, even though it isn't very "me" (see it here: [link] )

It's just SO COOL! And I think it's great that you've taken all the judge's criticisms and still kept it your own.
Although I think your first draft was fine as it was, it's good to see that you've refined it, and in my opinion, made it even better

I haven't been commenting, I know but I have been watching you. I love your designs and I would like you to be confident with them. The first one was the most confident out of the three because you did not have critiques to take to heart.
Be confident! Go with your gut! It should always be about the outfit you love, not about what the judges think.
I know you want to stay in the competition but your losing the edge on this one by redesigning and redesigning. Please be like a designer and have your own ideas and not be swayed too much.

While my first design is nice, it definitely has its faults, and there definitely is value in objectivity and refining, to take a step back and look at something and say, "do I really need that?" or "does this accomplish what I want it to?"
Plus, this picture may seem so much blander in comparison to the original, however, the first one people were looking at without having seen it before, whereas for this one people are looking at it having seen previous versions, so it's a lot harder to be wowed because most of it has been seen before.
I still have my old one up as a deviation, this is just the one i'm submitting to the contest.

I agree with you on stepping back and seeing what improvements can be made. That is a good thing and should be done. Just feels like the revising is going crazy, not that it is. Good luck in the competition ^_^ I always love your designs as I've said before. Also Balcienga's collection was very strong and futuristic this season I like your twist on it.

the ends of the ribbon are still firmly attached to the vest part, so why do you think that it wouldn't stay on?

These are both marvelous designs, though the vest on the first is very cool . . . I think the redesign was a good idea though -- it's more streamlined and still very Balenciaga. Nice!

I'm getting kind of annoyed at people, they're like "i don't like the vest" (my fave part), and then i redesign it and they're like "i like the other one better!!...though it's still not very you"

Well, I think it's you! Really, it's a marvelous presentation, and the new vest does actually mesh with the collection better, I think. Even though the old one is really very cool (my favorite part too, along with the arm warmers . . . and the fabric of the tunic thing . . . aw, heck, I love it all!)
