As much as I dint have anything against the Tomtord fandom, it still makes me feel weird at the thought of shipping two characters who are mostly based off two real life people (( I believe your reasoning for not shipping them is different, though. But meh ))

Need not forget that IRL they didn't nessassarily like each other either... (But not outright hate, just more like their personalities weren't compatible/were incompatible with each other (like you will sometimes run into people like that in life) but hey what's done is done and let's drop it along with the TomTord Shipping sue the aforementioned personality thing/comment)

I donβt ship them becuase it really doesnβt make sense when you think about it. If they didnβt hate eachother in the show I would be fine. But they hate eachother, like I donβt know how we can even ship tord with anyone after the end,

Well I think people ship them because of the strong bond they hold with eachother and how their relationship is very different from their relationship with Edd, Matt etc. Making the two stand out.
Their strong disliking towards eachother ( which is probably mostly Tom's side ) gives them a sort of strong bond ( JAMES BOND ) in a way. I dunno, just an assumptionΒ
