how do you keep the marker and paint from rubbing off???

Well honestly, they did rub off. This is one of my early pair of shoes where I was experimenting and the red began to smudge. Now I just strictly work with acrylics.

and because your stuff totally inspires me i went to walmart and bought black shoes and white shoes to paint on but my ideas are rough and i need your help
how did you sketch out your design on your black shoes? pencils not showing up, so do you use white pencil crayon? and my brainz empty any suggestions on shoe designs on the white pair?
