Nature / Characteristic: Careful / Good Perseverance

    Personality

    +Cautious | +Respectful | +Determined | =Quiet | =Curious  | -Apologetic (excessively) | -Gullible | -Self-Deceiving

Emilia puts up a front of calmness and optimism when it comes to socializing with others, giving them all respect equally no matter who they are. She strongly dislikes making enemies or getting on people's bad sides, being careful with her words and decisions in hopes to placate them before backing off to feel at ease once again. Should this not work however, she rather would avoid them as quickly as possible if not altogether. A pacifist at heart, she refuses to take part of most battles unless it is in self-defense, helping others, or other justified reasons. She is actually good with persevering in battles, though again, she'd rather avoid any conflict if she can solve a problem with words or other means.

Driven in her pursued passion of the past and myths, Emilia is quite determined and curious, diving in quickly to seek out new information or new leads should any little hints pop up, investigating and studying relentlessly until she can go no longer. Yet, being mostly booksmart leaves her often gullible - letting her head soak in false information given or told to her by others, and keeping it that way until she has experienced or proven otherwise. It tends to lead her rather misguided even with good intentions, and would apologizes rather excessively when she realizes errors in her ways.

Experiences with the disasters and her mother's recent health issues has left Emilia rather jittery, especially if it involves any unusual changes that occurred rather suddenly. Being this anxious and uncertain from strange changes festering in her head, it drives her to jump in and try to help everyone out as much as possible. Whether it is needed or not, believing that she is obligated to assist them no matter what.

All in all, the Ninjask is a calm and gentle person, however her pleasing and assisting needs towards others seem to be a coping mechanism that she herself isn't really aware of yet. It can become a bit overbearing at times, but Emilia always has an open ear and mind, trying the best to be aware as possible.

    Home Island: Ruby Island

    Hometown: Airedale

    History:

Emilia was born in the small island of Airedale as the newest member to the family of 4, consisting of her loving parents who shared an interest in ancient relics and history, and a brother and sister, both older than her. Her father, a Gliscor, was often absent in the house at times due to his job as an archaeologist, called in to be part of the team to study relics of ancient past and ruins shrouded in unexplained mysteries or local legends, leaving Emilia’s mother to stay home to watch over the house and taking over the shop, selling both tea and antiques, she owns as her contribution to support the family. Her brothers and sisters? Chattering on about joining in the large network system that is the mail delivery service at a young age, with the sister wanting to stay close to home to support and keep their mother company, and the brother taking it as his first step before wanting to be part of the topmost area where hot air balloons and other technology reside. It wasn’t that bad though, she and her siblings getting along well enough to share dreams and sometimes poking fun at each other for either being too "dull," too "air-headed" when he could fly, or in Emilia's case... too "down to earth" as she doesn't share the same passion as them. Her parents remained faithful to one another and her father often writes letters home frequently to talk about his work and even sending gifts alongside the money he earned, and in turn those letters had the little bug curious on what he does and looking for, turning her attention to the books, mostly the history books.

However, that wasn’t the only reason that brought her attention to that area of study. It was in fact her mother’s personal pet project that further drew her in, having been quietly watching her mother from the corner of the hallway as her mother brought out old books to her study desk to work on. When Emilia finally approached her mother to inquire and peeked, she realized she couldn’t understand it at all! It was an entirely different language than what she knew! Seeing her distress, her mother laughed in amusement and soothed her out of her frustration, explaining to her that it was a language she had been studying rather recently and have been working on deciphering the old books- diaries actually- that had been passed down by her mother. But even then, that wasn’t the deciding factor, it was her mother’s lullaby. For all those early years, her mother sang her a lullaby that she didn’t understand but never thought twice on it, until now when her mother read a few passages in that language.

Her mother told her that she was taught this lullaby from her mother, and she from her mother, without ever truly knowing the language, only that it was passed on orally to her. Largely intrigued, the little bug decided to immerse herself into all kinds of books she could get her hands on to learn of both history and any traces of that mysterious language to “help” her mother, much to the amusement of the entire household (and her brother commenting how they teased him for his ambitions). Her father was rather thrilled at her enthusiasm, commenting that if she keeps up with her studies, she could one day join and assist him in his archaeology trips. Like Father, like daughter. Her sudden young fever to the language also drove her to love music and singing, even going as far as begging her mother to take some music lessons so she can “perfect the art of singing the lullaby.”

Eventually her naïve youthful vigor as a child slowed down as she reached her teen years, her brother and sister already off in mail delivery service with the latter frequently showing up around the house to share stories, and attention and priorities shifted to helping her mother around the house, but her passion and yearning to learn had never faded. Emilia did take a few oddities to do as a learning experience on being responsible growing up here and there, including babysitting the young children of her neighboring family of birds which tested her patience and preservation. Life went on uneventfully from that point on, her mother’s pet project studies progressing slowly but steadily, and the occasional excitement of her father’s return home, and she keeps up with her school work and taking side jobs as part of the mail delivery service.

It wasn’t until years later, barely at the age of an adult when her father returned home with a discovery from his most recent trips: a worn-out tapestry depicting the mysterious Unowns found in the ruins in Emerald Island. He took this piece of treasure with him when he realized that the smaller prints in the tapestry weren’t only in just the English language they were familiar with, but it was also accompanied in smaller detail the same language she and her mother were slowly figuring out. According to local history, the ruins once housed a small royal family whom shared a belief, or connection, to the Unowns. No one really knows if it is true or not as almost all records of the family were lost, all the living members having been wiped out from being overthrown by a large organized band of thieves that was later too wiped out by unknown reasons. Was there a connection somewhere?

That was as far as Emilia could go in her thoughts with it as her mother, suddenly anxious, took it with her and didn’t part with it since. Emilia quietly suspected that her mother knew more than she let on, and perhaps she was lying about her slow progress too? Who knows, even her father was at a loss. It was decided that it is best not to pursue her if it made her mother feel rather uncomfortable for whatever her reason is.

    Then, disaster hits.
The wind, the hail, the burning rocks from the sky and the destructive lightning. It was a true horror to live through it all as Emilia and her family taken shelter deep in their home as parts of the house were blown off. The gods, legends whom she could only read about in books as myths, fought in the sky above them were a sight to behold and feared, for they were the source of the devastation. Something cracked loudly in the loud howls of the wind, more destruction, and then… Silence. Emilia was grateful that she and her family survived the disaster, but was struck in horror when she saw that a branch from the tree she called home was gone, ripped out and killed many lives inside. Oh, the horror…

To make matters worse, her mother began to panic and behave erratically in fear that “divine retribution is soon upon us.” And her father? They haven’t heard a word from him since the disaster. With the disaster leaving her very shaken to the core, Emilia was left without a choice but to join in the efforts of both helping their mother as well as the restoration and treatment to the many victims, learning on the spot in treatments and aid while she quietly contemplates on what she saw and what she could believe in. There… was so much more to these legends, to these myths than she ever thought possible, and now with word on the disaster on the other lands, the recent announcement of her father’s status as MIA, and the sudden emergence of Mystery Dungeons everywhere, Emilia made her careful decision to leave Airedale.

Her siblings knew that one-day Emilia would leave their home one way or another, but they never thought that it would be the recent disaster that would finalize her departure. Her mother, during one of her placate moments was reluctant to let her go, having felt the loss of her husband, until she slipped in a worn book she managed to save and passed it to her to “borrow” it in the meantime, making Emilia to promise that she must- and will- return the book in person one day. Her days in Airedale came to an end on her departure, keeping the book close to her at all cost as she traveled to Ruby Port and eventually to Emerald Island, planning to settle down in the nearest big city as a starting point in her search for her father.

Emilia was hit with a detour as she came across an Aegislash, barely alive, and nursed her back to health the best she could with her limited resources. Seeing as the sword needed expert professional medical attention, the Ninjask hurried on her journey with the wounded sword lady until she finally reached Everstone City. While she stayed in the city, assured the Aegislash will be alright, she realized that she wouldn’t be able to make much headway on her search and that she had to find some way to make a living for herself, turning her attention to the Everstone Guild. The Ninjask took some time to research about the newly formed guild, their work, necessities, and requirements before she made the decision of joining in to assist them. Perhaps her studies and lessons she learned back home could be of use with the Mystery Dungeons.

    Extras:

    • Believes in the classic superstition of ghosts oddly enough, she’s scared of them (does not include ghost-type anthros)
    • Emilia keeps in contact with her siblings since they both decided it it best they stay while Emilia went out to search
    • Her brother took over the responsibility of the family earnings, Emilia's sister continued to stay home with their mother
    • Bias preference of tea over coffee, she grew up with mother's shop after all!
    • She still pursues the mystery of the Unowns her father stumbled upon, she just takes priority over other matters like myths of the other known legendaries, mystery dungeons, and hoping to find any lead on her father
    • In a team, she plays as a scout and sometimes support with items, she only fights when necessary such as defending herself
    • The book she was given is in fact one of the diaries her mother kept when she was "still deciphering" them oddly enough
    • Just don't try touching the book, she will actually fight you over it
    • She's almost never without a journal or notebook anywhere she goes, whatever she writes in there can be almost anything that comes to mind
    • Emilia's knowledge on the mysterious language is limited, she has a cheat sheet of what she knows up to date somewhere in her notebooks
