Description Another experiment on creating landscapes in Daz3D.
The dimensions are realistic, the mountains are only slightly smaller than Ben Nevis in Scotland, for example.
Distance fog turned out to be a bit too thick to really appreciate the mountains, but I might put up an evening piece with clearer light.

Anyway that's an impression of Hyboria from REH, with a nod to the movie and AOC. I did not put in characters on purpose, to stay focused on the landscape.

Reminds me of my time in AOC, very well done

Ja, da ist was dran.

Magnus-Strindboem In reply to REK-3D [2019-03-02 14:29:27 +0000 UTC]

hmm...

Really awesome for Daz, I'm always impressed by good landscape scenes created there.

You can arguably create quite good landscapes in DAZ, except for very vegetations heavy scenarious.

In my opinion, Vue will outperform it, because it's specialiced on ecosystems, terrain and natural light, as DAZ is in people,
but if if you're more interested in illustrative/arty or storytelling stuff, it's quite sufficient, actutally underestimated.

does beautiful landscapes and settings in DAZ!

Thanks ... Yeah Vue is really a temptation, but the prices for anything beyond the most basic version are quite formidable... But I'll see if I can tickle Daz a bit more

ThierryCravatte In reply to Magnus-Strindboem [2018-06-12 17:33:47 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I agree, the prices are unfortunately way too high for my budget. And I'm sure that great result may be obtained with Daz ... and some imagination

Like really this empty landscape, can create my own stories ... for example Conan was binded on this tree.

For my part don't touch on this, the background is awesome and give by the blur a impress of froze.

Magnus-Strindboem In reply to Markkus3D [2018-06-11 19:51:12 +0000 UTC]

Yes sometimes the mind needs some empty space to expand into. I considered putting some person or stuff in, but decided against it in the end.

The tree had to be there, of course

Magnificent landscape. I would have never thought this was DAZ Studio, love the results.  I like the fog, it makes the foreground really stand out and gives it that misty Scotland landscape feeling of realism

Magnus-Strindboem In reply to JoePingleton [2018-06-11 14:15:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot. Basically it's only two (old) stripped down sets plus four props for candy and otherwise plain DAZ with only very minor post work.

I really like DAZ (even tho it's a hog sometimes) and wanted to try and see what is possible.
