Pumpkin had finally found his herd, and his mother Paludisovo received his enthusiastic headbutt with relief. The storm still pounded the earth, but at least Pumpkin was safe... or so it seemed.
From the underbrush leapt yet another unfamiliar face. Teeth bared and claws outstretched, it made a beeline for Pumpkin. The little styraco hadn't even noticed the beast's approach, but his father, Magma, did. Magma bellowed menacingly, causing Pumpkin to instinctively dart beneath his mother's body. Paludisovo also noticed the approaching enemy and took care not to step on her son as she howled at the creature. The dinosaurs swayed to and fro in a defensive dance, sheltering Pumpkin while simultaneously warding off the danger. The befeathered bugger was persistent, but ultimately decided that the risk of getting shish-kebabed by an adult styraco's nasal horn wasn't worth the effort, and he slunk away.
