and where did you get the teeny hour glass?!? I actually have an old watch movement with rubies (courtesy of my mother in law, first 'real watch' my father in law purchased when they were young and living on love alone). This would be a really cool gift for her if I could make one for her.

I got it from a dealer at an antique show. She didn't have any last time I went for more. Maybe there's a supplier on etsy? They've gotta be around, I've seen other people use them on here.

It's odd. I still haven't figure out why that wire darkens so much slower than my other coppers.

Different alloy, you'd know if it was enamelled, or it could be a slightly more burnished (and dense) finish.
