Found a few mini hourglasses and couldn't resist.I had this image of the mad scientist that really wants to trust technology, but for something as touchy as timetravel, looks for some old fashioned backup, just in case.
So, old watch, older movement (still with teeny tiny rubies), copper and carnelian, vintage silk velvet from my pocketbook scraps, and the mini hourglass (secondsglass?)
Doesn't make slow days go faster, but the hourglass give you something to play with at least

and where did you get the teeny hour glass?!? I actually have an old watch movement with rubies (courtesy of my mother in law, first 'real watch' my father in law purchased when they were young and living on love alone). This would be a really cool gift for her if I could make one for her.

I got it from a dealer at an antique show. She didn't have any last time I went for more. Maybe there's a supplier on etsy? They've gotta be around, I've seen other people use them on here.

This is such a unique piece and the little hourglass gives it a unique touch.

Interesting concept, I think it will look even better when the copper gets darker

It's odd. I still haven't figure out why that wire darkens so much slower than my other coppers.

Different alloy, you'd know if it was enamelled, or it could be a slightly more burnished (and dense) finish.
