The Treeman is a supernatural gallows tree in Blackwood Forest that's possessed by an amalgam of the souls of people that were put to death by hanging or by commiting suicide on it. After being possessed by so many souls it gained sentience and roams the woods looking for more next victims.
Trivia:
He's based on the Crooked Man, Slenderman, and the Hanged Man.
He's also known as Mr Gallows and the Hangman.
The gallows tree was actually a treant who was taking a decades long sleep.
He's used as a folktale used to scare children from going into the woods alone.
Powers/Abilities:
He can control surrounding trees and use them to ensnare victims
He can morph his body shape
He can tunnel underground
His roots drain life out of whatever they touch
He can raise the dead by inserting his tendrils into them.
