Oh God...where do I begin...This was inspired by a mix of 3 things;
1. A traffic cone my neighbors left outside before moving away
2. Me having acquired a copy of Nemesis the Warlock: Book 1 (tears of joy were shed, it's been 20 years)
3. A late night mix of caffeine and Mel Brooks
I thought about adding more color than the overlay and fixing the text...but honestly to God, this thing is a creature of Chaos without assistance (pun intended?).
Whelp, if I am to burn in everlasting heretic hell, let me go out screaming 'I REGRET NOTHING!'
making fun of what was voted the BIGGEST ASSHOLE in British comic book history (I think like 5 years running).

Usually he is creepy, period. He just happens to have a cult personality and be a damn good, rousing orator.
It's strange because he is such an obvious product of what happened to him (with the Nagas and whatnot), and yet...somehow that still doesn't justify exterminating BILLIONS.

I also got the dark judges sitting on my coffee table (WOW that sounds exceptionally awkward out of context, lol), so look forward to them as well!

I agree, the guy is so depraved that nothing he does is ever justifiable. He is cruel, hypocritical, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, manipulative, patronising, power-hungry, genocidal, sadistic, greedy and above all just plain nasty. No wonder he was a hit.
(I still find it funny that he was apparently inspired by a school prefect Pat Mills once knew.)
Although the thing that hooked me with Nemesis the Warlock the most is the relationship between Torquemada and Nemesis. What started out as a small tiff soon got blown out of proprtion to the point where one could not rest until the other was sufficiently defeated. That and the satire.
Looking forward to seeing you do the Dark Judges, although those guys do give me the creeps.

It's like Pat said; "The more of a bastard a character is, the more people seem to live him/her" lol and he is right.
Ooooh yes, I am all too familiar with the psychosis of catholic school staff.
The sad thing is some make Torquemada look good in comparison.
I think my favorite scene was in book 4, aboard the train, when both were disguised and ran into each other and started apologizing.
It's funny how everyone is drawn to an different aspect of the comic, for me it was the humor and just the general 'strangeness of it'.
The biggest thing was though Nemesis himself, as a child he was my ideal "hero", he wasn't cheesy or overblown, but felt real and down to earth.
So far I got various sketches for ABC Warriors, Nemesis, Dredd and Flesh. (Thanks Pat, for 80% of my childhood)
I want to dig deeper and so some Rouge Trooper and Slaine as well, I may not have read them as a kid, but hey...better late than never.

On the subject of 2000AD, there was a web mini-series released recently called Judge Dredd: Superfiend. If you haven't seen it yet then I recommend you check it out.

It was made by one of the producers of the recent "Dredd" film as a thankyou to the film's fan base. It is based more on the comic than the film and while it has Dredd in the title, the series is primarily a reinterpretation/adaptation of Judge Death's origin story. Its pretty dark and even funny in places and is certainly worth a look.
I figured you might be interested. Hope you enjoy it.

I love all these 2000 AD comic Books, as Robo Hunter, ABC Warriors or Dredd. I met Ian Gibson years ago in an spanish conventiona and felt really nervous to meet one of my favorite comic book artists from my childhood!

Nemesis and ABC were my absolute faves, I also liked Flesh and Dredd a lot.
The magazine was really hard to get in my country, so it always felt special when I found a Kiosk that had them.

I loved it when the ABC Warriors turned up in the timeline of Nemesis and Torquemada. Such a terrific vision of a dark future and if you look at the timelines, you'll see the 2000AD writers and Rick Priestley bouncing off each other's mad ideas in the early 1980s.

Obviously there was Dredd, but I think my favourite Dredd arc ever was Deadman (because we didn't know it was a Dredd arc until the end - SPOILERS!!). But I'd love to see your take on Anderson or even Giant or Whitey or...

I was glad to have a chance to catch up with all these goodies; Nemesis, ABC Warriors, Dredd, Flesh and Tharg.
These comics were my primary way of learning the English language as a child...Judge Dredd the linguistics teacher, what a horrifyingly hilarious mental image.

I am laughing so hard internally that people are calling him a demon, is the biggest and greatest irony of the universe I have ever seen.
Tomas is a human extremist(this is his soul, as fucked up and evil as he was), his greatest enemy was the demon warlock Nemesis (whom IS the anti-hero protagonist in this tale).
For him to be called what his greatest hatred in life was, is absolutely delicious to me
