Description
So I organized this thing with a fellow deviantART user , an art trade. At the time I was doing a number of them with a few folks, and his offer was for four characters each to be drawn in grayscale. I suggested the main four from myHP, and he introduced me to four characters of his own. He eventually came up with a nice little group picture of Malcolm, Mag, Diesel, and Marcy. I didn't have much to show for myself then, aside from a scratchy work-in-progress thing that I really don't think is worth showing. (It's not good.)

This all happened about three years ago.

So I've had my drawing skills tweaked here and there after some messing around with my own characters recently, and it finally felt like the time to fulfill my end of that thee-years-overdue exchange. The in-progress thing was scrapped and I restarted it from scratch, attempting to make something a little more intense and "epic," almost like a movie poster or something. And considering it's been so long, I decided to color one, his mascot character (whom I think some folks may have seen a sketch of earlier on). This is almost all done via Photoshop, a program I still haven't fully felt at home with.

I'm fairly content with how it turned out, and hopefully he does too, considering I've had to take a few liberties. The actual image is larger than what I'm presenting here.

To note, the color character in front is his main character, an agile psychic cat named Jowy, described as:

"Energetic, fearless, a bit too confident on his abilities sometimes, but overall nice guy!"

To his left is Leena, who apparently wields Holy powers:

"The Princess of the story, well she's of royal descent, but is the daughter of a Holy man. She's sweet, fun, silly, and very protective."

To his right is the martial artist Toby:

"The Fighter of the group, a bit snarky, incredulous, flirty, but will always help a friend in need."

And above them, a psychic and dark character, Blint:

"The Bad guy, he wasn't always bad.. but his thirst for power took him to a dark road where no one else could follow."
