Description One of two new inductees in the Raging Fur cast.

Judy Stern is part of Canada's women's hockey league, and one of the strongest women in the country (if not the world). She is notorious for being the roughest player in the sport (for any gender), proven by her numerous penalties for unnecessary roughness and fights with players of the opposing team, as well as her own. Recently she was warned that she would be banned from the game if she continued her impulsive desire to rough up the opposition and start a fight. As much as she loved to fight, she loved the sport of hockey more, so she was forced to supress her aggresive nature.

But she could only do it for so long, and after a month of no rough play the restriction has finally driven her up the wall. She wants to let loose her violent impulses in a way that doesn't ban her from her favorite sport. Hearing of the Raging Fur tournament, she decides to take a short break from hockey and unleash the aggressor inside. She doesn't care if winning will boost her popularity...she just wants to beat people up.

Even though she bears no style of fighting, she's got enough muscle and aggression for that not to matter. She wears her hockey gloves in battle as a "buffer" so that, in her belief, the fights will last longer.

I'd rather not be at any of her fights. Y'never know when a hockey game might break out.

*runs!*

Heh. I needed someone that just had a strong build and powerful attacks without any real "martial arts" applied. I figure a strong hockey player would work well. Making it a lady was a slight afterthought, but I like it. :3

Works for me. Hockey is a rather rough sport. If it wasn't, they wouldn't need all that padding. You could use someone who plays football, but they don't often fight as much as hockey players do, so far as I know.

Still, given the choice, I'd rather not have to fight someone who plays in either sport...

Ya, I don't think football isn't as famous for spontaneous fist fights. Although they do always try to take each other down. X3

Oo, nice, great work on the character design, could have sworn it was a male too, heh.
Greta work, wonderul details, especially with the fur on the tail and around the head. Great pose as well, she looks intimidating.

Heh. I wasn't going for beauty so much as the appearance of being massive and strong when I designed her. I felt like the females in the original lineup didn't have a power hitter, so I ended up with Judy, the mid-30's Canadian Lynx hockey player. X3

I kept wondering if I could get away with making a Canadian fighter with strong ties to hockey, becuase I kept thinking it was typecasting. But for each character I want to maintain some ties with their native homeland, and I didn't know much else about Canada. More importantly though, the more I looked into the possibility of this character, the more it felt like a good idea. To me, hockey's built a strong reputation of being a very violent sport, so it just seemed like a match made in heaven. :3

I wouldn't think it's typecasting myself, I don't think I've seen a character like Judy here, so I think it works.

When I was talking about typecasting, I meant associating the Canadian with hockey. But again, it was all I could think of at the time! X3

Well, it's not a bad thing, everyone does think that and well, it is the birthplace of hockey, I think so anyway.
But I don't thik it's bad, you could have picked something worse, and hey, she looks like a scary character and not a typical red-neck, bacon eating french-canadian we see all too often.

Heh. I'm more used to the redneck beer-swigging southern American myself. X3
