This is beautiful! I love the colours and the determination and perseverance on Elsa's face! My favourite part is when Anna and Elsa are together, at the end. They're so glad to have each other back!

This scene, and the one in which Elsa is holding onto Anna's frozen body -- the way her cape stretches out, you almost can't tell if it's Elsa's or Anna's, and I thought that was a really beautiful effect, making the two sisters look like one person -- were my favorite scenes.
I like that darker shade of blue-green you gave to her dress, and how it shines. And her expression is great!

I added this to my favorites a week ago, but haven't commented on it since, to be frank, I was at a loss for words on how to express my admiration and reaction to this wonderful work of art. The choice of the moment, the pose, and its associated place in the movie, is inspired. No wonder you finished it so quickly!
What makes this piece exceptional are the artistic deviations you made (consciously or unconsciously) that make this piece better than the cel from the movie it depicts. Firstly, Elsa's skin is fairer in the movie than here, but your color choice of a warm brownish yellow glow improves the impact of the piece: this is just after she sings "I'll rise like the break of dawn" and is walking to her balcony to greet the rising sun, but you have rendered the sun redundant: She herself almost literally shines from the glow of joy bursting from within her! I immediately thought of Rembrandt and the Dutch Masters, who obsessed with the contrasts of light and dark. if you are ever challenged to "draw something imitating the Dutch style", pull this one out and savor the sound of jaws dropping on the floor.
Her dress is definitely a darker shade of blue than the movie, but the difference is subtle and clearly necessary to accent and emphasize the glow, since the original shade would have washed out the glow somewhat. One step back, three forward.
Another artistic deviation that I believe you made (although I am subject to correction) is that you made her hands a touch larger than the originals. The animators went to great lengths to render her hands small, delicate, and expressive of her emotions, and I find myself watching the HD streams of her scenes to just focus on them and marvel. So yeah, I think they are larger here, but that is actually a plus: Michelangelo's "David" came to mind, and that statue has larger hands than normal, which was the sculptor's way of emphasizing the creative power of humanity. Elsa has just finished constructing her Ice Palace by waving her hands, the hands that had been her enemies for 13 years and now are the tools of her creative powers. Sizing them up slightly was a great call. One step back, three forward.
I just look at this piece about my favorite Disney Princess, and feel happy.
----------------
While this part of the movie is undoubtedly great, my favorite part is when Anna enters Elsa's ice palace and marvels at its beauty. She slips a bit at the foot of the first flight of steps, then looks up when Elsa says "Anna!"
Elsa then steps out into the shaft of light at the top of the stairs, transformed, radiant, like an angel. Best. Cel. In. The. Movie.

Oh, and if you want me to draw a scene, especially the one you mentioned, let me know; since you've donated, you have the right to a commission. Let me know all the details of what you wish.

Thank you. My strength is, if you can tell, wordsmithing, so I must content myself with being a patron when it comes to the visual arts. The precise cel I would like is the last one where the camera is on Elsa at the top of her stairs, just before the camera cuts to Anna. In the HD, she walks into a shaft of light, which I believe would be a worthy challenge for your eye of light and dark.
However, I confess to being a bit torn between my desire to see you take on the cel I mentioned, and seeing what you planned to do. As a writer of fanfiction, I can relate to the difficulty of "catching fire" (or as I would say, "getting bonked/struck by the muse"), and your judgment on this piece was so good, that I am truly curious to see what you have "in the works".
You mention, in your other comment below, that your passion for Frozen is staring to scare your friends that you're on a self-imposed hiatus from your planned pieces. Why don't we just kinda "warp" the meaning of "commission" into "sponsorship" and use that as an excuse for you to resurrect one of those to finish off as a "sorta, kinda 'commission'"? Dealers choice, k?

Why not? Jejeje. So I did look up the scene you told me and I captured a couple with the rey of light. I'm not sure if you want the one where she is happy with her creation, or when she starts explaining to Anna why she cannot leave before Olaf comes in. I just love all of Elsa's expressions, and I always want to draw them.

Now that you point it out, I would like it where she says "anyone", at the end of her phrase "...where I can be myself, and not hurt anyone." That IS lovely.
And thank you in advance.
