I am in love with that hair and the detail you put in the socks and boots and....everything!

Thanks so much, your art is full of kick-ass! It really represents everything I love about the show itself. I signed the petition already, although I didn't realize the show was canceled way back in '07, which is extra-disappointing. I can only hold out hope for catching episodes I still haven't seen yet on Nicktoons.

Well if any character deserves to look epically demented, it's this one. Her design wouldn't be nearly as interesting if her hair were black or brown though, it's all that vibrant blue hair that makes it all work.

Awesome job with the lighting and color. Dynamic drawing too. She kind of scares me a little bit.

There's something indescribably unique about your work, it's so refreshing to see among a sea of reproductions. Beautiful details, unique colors, great work.

I'm glad to hear that. I was seriously on the verge of trashing this drawing two or three times during the Photoshop phase. I was having trouble with the eyes, which I had to radically redraw at the last minute. I forced myself to finish though because I didn't like the idea of spending an entire day on a drawing and having to junk it.

I think you made the right choice. This piece has your stank all over it, you've got some of the most unique line art and character distortions I've seen on DA. It's very clean and fluid. It's that extra effort you put into your work that makes it shine. The fact you finished this piece, even though you weren't totally satisfied with it, shows how committed you are to the process and the overall quality of your work. Some artists will never get to that level of commitment, they'll never care enough to take that extra step. I'm struggling with that right now with my oil painting, I hope to get there someday.

Oil painting? Sounds groovy. I should learn some real painting. I don't know if it's necessarily a virtue to upload everything one attempts, sometimes a piece really just doesn't work out. But after three or four workup sketches, a good while making the ink drawing, and a couple of hours on the computer, I'd have felt pretty miserable tossing this one aside without trying everything first.

cloxboy is totally right. in a flood of artist with the same shitty anime style bullshit, you are one of the few to come out and bring an original style true to american art and originality.
but yeah, i know what you mean, sometimes I hate some of my drawing cause i just can't feel the magic, but I usaully post it just so my colors and detail wasn't a waste and i like it when someone else will enjoy my art. Besides most of work (even some sketches) look fantastic overall, so don't feel bad about it.
I glad your a El tigre fan, cause Jorge R. Gutierrez ( one of the creators and aritists for the show) made a DA account so go check it out ([link] ) too bad the show was cancelled, bet you can guess what show...

Let me guess, they needed the money for more Spongebob eps? Or maybe they needed that extra cash for that already-failed Dora the Explorer revamp? I was just assuming that it was standard Nick protocol to cancel a show just as soon as it made enough episodes to have a comfortable rerun life on Nicktoons forever.
But yeah, I will certainly go to Jorge R. Gutierrez's account and shower him with my love and adoration, thx for the link. Also I'm glad you like my style. I normally feel like I AM doing a bullshit anime style when I work like this, but most people never really get that impression of my work. I guess I'm kinda glad of that. Gotta switch it up from time to time, y'know?

yeah i know what you mean, i like doing alot of inking, and coloring with good old paint and marker, but I also am adjusting to adobe illustrator and photoshop.
oh, and El Tigre was cancelled because, get this, didn't get enough ratings as spongebob? WTF, what i don't get is why compare El Tigre, a well written, comical action show with multiple characters that can be relatible and develop over time that has subtle messages like loving your family or admiting you were wrong, to Sponge Fuckin squarefuck, a show that has been raped countless times with overated slapstick humor, bland character that haven't develped or even get enough notice anymore(like sandy and she was my fav character) and not to mention having no morals, lessons, or for that matter some intallectual action to help kids, cause isn't that what nick shows are, to a least have someone to give kids some creative influence or idea. Even Ren & Stimpy (Awesome show) show viewers new ways to be creative with its unique humor and hidden subtle morals on friendship.
phew, thats alot, sorry for ranting thier. at least were not talking about that DBZ movie. But with spongebob, idiot kids will always be watching it and sadly the show might never, so to have a new show be compared so soon is like a Death sentence! It's like comparing Sonis satam's (another amazing show) to the simpsons if it was on fox, Satam wouldn't of stood a fuckin chance. it just Bullshit

Well come to think of it, Sonic SatAm only lasted one season too, so maybe they were comparing it to the Simpsons. But oh well. I'm used to shows I like getting canned early.

yeah, but actually satam lasted two season with a cliff hanger, thus resulting in the continuation of the series through the archies comic's sonic the hedgehog, and this month will be it's 200th issues release!!!!

I've actually been reading those for the last several months. I believe the comic actually came out before the show, but it is cool to see how the story could have played out in the cartoon by reading the comic. It's pretty solid stuff, and at least you don't have to read twenty different magazines month to keep up with a storyline. Although they are up to 3 Sonic titles now that they're beginning to criss-cross a little bit.

yeah i know, but don't bother with Sonic X, guh saying that just gives me diarrea. the third one 's sonic universe with does mix with the other two and is focused on shadow and rouge at the moment, then knuckles will have his story soon. man, you ever notice that no one talks about this comic, i mean everyone likes to shit on sonic x, remember the adventures of sonic the hedge (u know, scratch & grounder), others praising and showing tribute to sonic satam, and seaching for old sega sonic games just to feel the awesomeness. But no one seems to acknowledge the comics, not even the british one, Sonic The Comic. i haven't read it but it looks great

Yeah I don't quite get it either, it's like no one's ever heard of it. The main line one is really good, and Sonic Universe is pretty much like the Sonic version of that old X-Men Unlimited series. Sonic X is for much younger readers admittedly, but it can be fun too sometimes. Of course there must be enough people reading the comics, they've been selling well enough for like fifteen years. I only recently found out about Sonic the Comic, it looks like Judge Dredd with Sonic in it. Haven't read any of it yet, but the official site has some backup stories on it.
