Description Here are Blemish the Sickly and Prickles again!
Ive just been in the mood to draw these two lately!
As you can see, Blemish doesn't really like the idea of drinking bitter medicinal soup, but Prickles is there to make sure she drinks every last sip! Such a motherly dragon~

What kind of soup is it? You can make some quite nice medicinal soups -- chicken and vegetable curry soup is a good one, the spices kill the bugs and it's got plenty of nutrients in it to help you get stronger and help your immune system.

Very well drawn and I like the "old paper" style background. The shading and texturing is excellent, by the way, do you use a special brush-type or something?

I'm not sure what kind of soup I had in mind when I drew it, but I imagine it to be very bitter and creamy.. maybe something spinach-y.
Thanks, I have a tendency to just slap a paper texture on every one of my drawings lately, its really hard to resist.
I used the default brush 'Hard Round 12 2' in photoshop to shade this.

But spinach is nice...

Ah, okay, I'll have to see if there's a Paint Shop Pro or Gimp equivalent to that, thanks

Its funny cause from my experience Photoshop has the least likable blending brush Ive tested in any program, though admittedly Ive never used Paint Shop Pro nor Gimp. Open Canvas has a pretty nice default set and the first version is free! Paint tool Sai is like heaven, but it continues to tease me with its elusiveness! *shakes fist*

Sai? This: [link]
I think I've heard of it before but I've never used it.
I'll take a look at Open Canvas too. Thanks.

Yes that's it! There's just something about that program's brushes that Ive yet to witness any where else.

I wonder if a dragon is cold blooded or not... and if so, how much warmth would that give off?

...Anyway, sweet one ya got here.

My thoughts exactly, I always wondered about that, what with frost dragons and such.
I always imagined that as reptiles, dragons are cold blooded, but they have something in their abdomen/gut that holds heat like a sack.
The most common idea of dragons creating fire is that they ignite a gas or liquid when they expel it, like with a flint. But I like the idea of them actually having fire in their body already and that's what warms their body.
Hey or maybe, since the blood runs through the heart, maybe the dragons heart could give off heat. Then it would be a continuous cycle that sends warm blood throughout the body instead of centered in one area.
LOL sorry for the rant, this kind of stuff fascinates me.

Did you ever see the faux dragon documentry? It was pretty interesting and fun. Possible evolutionary systems for the development of a dragon.

I should get that dragon for my mom!!

Prickles sure cares for his rider!! ^^ And although it might get annoying for Blemish at times, good health is way more important!

All in all, lovely work you've got here. Prickles' colours are awesome.

Why, is your mummy sick? Mine too. Getting better though!
Yeaaahhh.. good health is good but its still annoying to maintain! xD
Thank you! I keep on forgetting to mention in the description, but I got the inspiration for Prickles colours from the extra's on the dvd! There was this cool looking Nadder chasing Hiccup in the snowboarding clip and it had darker colours than a normal Nadder.

She's not sick right now, but, you know, she's not exactly adamant about taking medicine. My dad and I really have to pay attention to make sure she takes it when she needs it. I hope your mom will be fine asap!

Yes, now that you mention it, I remember that Nadder from the clip! And it also reminds me of how, at the end of the movie, there's an orange Zippleback wandering through the village!

Oh, and you're welcome, of course!

Yeah, a big furry blanket is nice, but nothing beats the cold better than curling up to the warm side of a fire-breathing reptile!
Thanks~
