How exactly do you make the stroke (not fill) colour white/Whatever?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

SenpaiSky In reply to Clockblockers [2014-11-08 17:19:59 +0000 UTC]

If you're taking a color from a swatch, go to Fill and Stroke and click Stroke by the top and select the color. Or you hold shift while clicking the color.

Great tutorial, but do you know any that can teach me how to make pony vectors from scratch as opposed to bases?

I feel really silly but I'm having a hard time getting that hair section above the horn. I'm selecting it and pressing ctrl+d and then shit+pg up, but I'm not getting it to go onto the horn layer. Am I doing something wrong?

mandydax In reply to Corgis [2013-10-21 06:07:17 +0000 UTC]

Use the swatch button in the Fill and Stroke "Fill" tab like in Figure 2. If it's not showing in your Swatches, make sure it is set to "Auto" by clicking the little left-pointing triangle just above the scrollbar and selecting Auto. IIRC, the Auto swatches are saved as part of the SVG file so that you can still use them later. If it's still not working, you may just want to install a palette like one of these: fav.me/d4t42da

If you didn't download it from here, it's probably not Inkscape if it looks so different.

How do you do eyes? I've got the basic oval for the iris, but the gradient gets the weird line through it.

What do you mean by "weird line"? Can you post a screenshot of the problem to your scraps and post a link in reply?

Pair-o-Sprites In reply to mandydax [2013-07-22 03:17:25 +0000 UTC]

Well I've figured that out as of the moment, but now I have the outline of the ellipse without the gradient and frankly, it just looks awkward. (See:Ā sta.sh/01frnuwhdglu)

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

mandydax In reply to Pair-o-Sprites [2013-07-23 10:06:36 +0000 UTC]

For the outline, set it to no stroke (Shift-click on the red X in the palette). That should work. You can set a stroke to a gradient, too. That's how I do Celestia's hair.Ā

i appreciate anyone who can answer these questions for me. is this program good for those who are just starting out for digital art and is this program compatible and good with an electronic drawing pad for the computer?

I think it's a very good program, however it glitches out if I turn on the pressure sensitivity with my Wacom Intuos3 tablet.
