I'm actually glad it wasn't one of his beloved crocs. :/ It would've made a lot of people go "I told you so!", I think. But I'm sure Steve had no regrets, dying doing what he loved.

Of course he wouldn't have any regrets who could doing that type of thing? And your right it would be annoying having people say "I told you so." if he died by a croc. Very sad that he's gone though, very sad.

He was my childhood hero! I always loved to watch how devoted and happy he was with all the things he did.
I'll never forget the way he happily picked up the most dangerous snakes as if they were his favorite playtoy!
He was just so loveable! ;_; May you rest in peace, Steve!

The best to Terri and his childen. I'm still finding it hard to believe that he's gone, bu we have to come face to face with the facts. Animals couldn't have had a more amazing guy to fight for them.

I cried my eyes out yesterday morning hearing this... I still can't really believe it... I loved Steve... Animal Planet and Croc Hunter was my life as a kid. I'm crying again now... mannnn! 
And this is an awesome tribute, Mandy. And it's awesome that it's bright and happy, just like Steve... very fitting memorial for him.

I'll always remember Steve Irwin, he was by far one of the greatest animal lovers this world has ever known. He was always so kind, so loving, so wanting to help the society. When I found out he died, I cried my eyes out, I loved him. He was awesome. He was a great dad, husband, and animal lover. RIP Steve Irwin ;~; I'll never forget you.

i hope terri, robert and bindi manage to cope with all of this soon enough. ;_; it can't be easy... and poor robert having to loose an awesome dad
in his early childhood... i'm just glad bindi has been around long enough to see and get a great feel for the good intentions of her daddy's work
and love for animals. <3 and robert will understand someday too what it means to be an irwin kid.
i'm getting sick of everyone complaining about how 'there are far worse things happening in the world... who cares?' and really, a lot of people do.
he was a person, and his work was appreciated. :C i just wish more people would understand that, and leave it alone.

I think Steve would've loved to see all the people showing their care, all around the world. T__T I went to the zoo yesterday and the flags were at half-mast, which just set me off again... ;~;
Those have been bugging me too. :/ I saw a few on your journal and managed to restrain myself, buuut...I mean, the fact that this many people are mourning someone shows that they cared a lot, respected him a lot, etc. And that's not a bad thing and never will be.

He was so crazy, but so stinking cool. I loved watching him in high school. And every appearance he made on Leno was priceless (that time he brought actual rattlesnakes on stage... XD). I just hope his work goes on; he did a lot for conservation.
I dunno what your personal beliefs are, but I personally think you'll get to meet him someday.
