A fanart for tumblr user chibicookie, the 3rd place winner of my 1,000 Tumblr Followers Giveaway. She requested a fanart of teenage Helios and Chibi Usa eating a sundae together. I've actually been going over date scenarios in my head for this pairing for fun, so this prompt was very easy to do since it kind of fits with an idea I already had.
Chibi Usa and Helios are going on their first date together, but the Asteroid Senshi are secretly following them. Their excuse is that as the princess' guardians they have to be with her at all times, but the truth is Ceres just wants to spy on them, Vesta doesn't trust Helios and wants to make sure Helios doesn't do anything funny to their princess, Pallas because Ceres told her it would be fun, and Juno because she got dragged along.
Thing is, not only are the Quartet shadowing them, but Kind Endymion decided to come along as well, using some of his skills from his Tuxedo Kamen days (i.e. walking around in a tuxedo and sun glasses). His reason is that while he trusts Helios, thanks to the link they share Endymion also knows exactly what Helios' feelings for Chibi Usa are, and as her father he just can't ignore his fatherly instincts. (I can't be the only one who thought the link between Endymion and Helios would be inconvenient and hilarious when the latter starts going out with the former's daughter.)
Hotaru ended up tagging along too, partly to protect the king, partly (and sheepishly) because she wants to see what happens too. Chibi Usa is thankfully blissfully unaware of all this, as she's too excited to pay attention to her surroundings. Helios on the other hand, picked up on them pretty quickly and tries his best to ignore them so as to not ruin the date.
And that's how I imagined the story leading up to the fanart above goes. When Chibi Usa passes by a cafe she and Helios decide to share a sundae together. Seeing the fresh strawberries and whipped cream, Chibi Usa takes a spoon full and offers it to Helios, quite unaware of the implications of her gesture at first. Helios blushes, and in the bushes Ceres can't wait to tell Venus-sama about this juicy new development. Endymion looks on, eying Helios critically to see how he responds, while Hotaru can only sigh at everyone's antics.
