Oh man, I really wish there was an easier way to explain! My tools are HB pencils, tissue, qtips and a micro eraser. I always start small and light and gradually make my way into it. Thank you for the compliment! I actually went back in after and added more highlight to his hair (I have yet to rescan and update this one)

I was about 14 when I first started to draw faces. I'm 30 now. I went through periods where I wouldn't draw for a year and then do a couple of portraits here and there, but the last year I really started going going all out again

Funny thing is, the reason I asked is because I am 14 and I just started to draw realistic faces on my own time. I am not really great at it so far, considering I've only done about 5 realistic faces in the past. Hopefully I'll be as good as you when I'm 30. xDD 

Do you have any tips for a newbie like myself? o 3 o

Yaya! Hmm advice.. Hehe. The key I find for me anyway is to always start light and in layers to make parts darker. I find a mechanical pencil is my best friend for finer details. Along with a pencil shaped eraser, and shading stumps. I also use tissue and qtips for shading too. Haha. I always find it hard when Im asked for advice! lol I just figured most of out by trial and error and finding artists that similar works that I'm trying to achiev to inspire me

im a newbie, so any advice is useful for me!! n 3 n and i didnt know they made a pencil shaped eraser, so now i know what to get next time i go to the local art store haha. and yeah i was guessing trial and error but its really hard to start realistic drawings > 3 <

yeah, and that's my favorite part of him.. so i keep drawing him until i can get his eyes right hehe yeah, i did XD I love his costume and doing detail with my pen so.. thanks!
