The red-haired bull:
The legend tells of a terrifying dragon that lived in the woods around the city, spreading terror among the population by spewing fire and flames, devouring farm animals, and killing many people. The locals, in search of a solution to defeat the dragon and live in peace again, thought of sending another animal that could fight against this frightful creature. The choice fell on a red-haired Bull, the strongest and most robust animal they had available.
To make it even stronger and increase the chances of victory, the city dwellers gave the animal a mixture of water and red wine to drink. And indeed, this drink made the Bull even more combative and eager. After drinking this "elixir," the red Bull was taken to the woods, and the fight with the dragon began. The brave animal, fighting with all its might, managed to injure the dangerous creature with its horns, and in the end, it prevailed, succeeding in killing it. However, during the tough battle, the red-haired Bull was gravely injured and died shortly after.
The village population was so grateful to the red Bull and its sacrifice that they decided to include it in the pantheon of their own deities and place it in the city's coat of arms. From this savior, the name Torino derived, and the bond that the city still has with this animal, symbolizing strength, tenacity, courage, and freedom, considered virtues of the people of Turin.
