This is a photo of a young lady of about five or six, I would guess. She is wearing a pretty yellow /orange and pink gown with feminine ruffles around the collar. I don`t know if she chose this garment herself or someone else suggested she wear it for this photo shoot, but it suits her very well indeed.

You caught a moment where she is either biting her fingernails or touching her lip, making her look thoughtful and /or timid. These quick and fleeting moments are what bring portraits to life.

The light is stronger on the right side of her face, lighting her fingers and one eye and throwing them into sharp contrast with the other side of her hand and face, giving the photo added depth. Her hand and hair are in slightly sharper focus than her face and shoulders, where the softer focus suits the rather shy expression on her face.
