Description
Photograph that I took of a captive female Amur leopard in the afternoon sunlight. This sub species of leopard is probably the rarest cat in the world. A population census in 2007 recorded only 14-20 adults and 5-6 cubs living wild in Primorye(Russia). This is very sad, in my opinion it is the most beautiful of the leopards. I just hope the captive population can perhaps supplement them in the future.
