Description Absolute fan of Greg Capullo's work. I was completely taken how he uses negative shapes to highlight a suggestion of what could be a strand of hair or a leaf! So after being inspired by what he drew, I made this as some sort of a tribute and personal excercise! I will definitely throw inks on this later, hell I might even enlarge it to A3 and really have a go at it.

I find this to be a well orchestrated portrait, that shows you are very skilled in your ability to create solid imagery through your use of abstract shapes. My favorite example of this would be the detail that has been given to the woman's hair to give it the illusion of being mixed with ivy.

The one area that I would suggest could use some delicate tweaking, would be her lips. She is adorned with a very seductive look in her eyes, yet when the eye travels to her lips, it feels as though there is still potential. More specifically within her cupids bow.

However, that is extremely minimal when taking the whole picture into consideration. Personally, I love the shape of her face as well, and the way it was also highlighted on her neck.

Wow
This is a very nice portrait of Ivy.
The use of negative shapes is done very well and creates a very subtle and shadowy effect making it very different from the normal portraits we see.

Excellent work

This looks great. I really think you captured the essence of the shapes of the leaves with the shading and negative space. Fantastic job.

Really nice sketch, very well done! Also we both have the same common artist Greg Capullo! He is a class act met him a few years back, really cool cat!

Dude, I'm jealous! But that's what you get if you don't live in the USA. Blah.

I understand, especially if the artist you like doesn't go to any overseas location Comic Con! I know that some do, like Adam Hughes and maybe others but not all.
