Hey there...I like the way Sayuri looks. Don't really care for the all the greys. If the paper is poor, you ought to stop using it. Or just use it for rough experiments. but you know that.

thanks! Yeah, I still trying to find any utility for this paper... What bothers me is, the paper is sold as "for watercolor". Waste of money.

WEll, just use it for testing. That's what i do with scrap paper, to see what colors might work. Then bring up the GOOD paper.

I really like the smudged brush strokes (for lack of a better description) as it seems to me like a blowing breeze. The trees and leaves also seem to be moving in such a fashion which I think is a nice touch (assuming it's intentional of course).
I do like the delicate way you've drawn the woman, especially the face and kimono. I do wonder if it's slipping and she's catching it, or if she's perhaps pulling it down slightly for one reason or another (to titillate the viewer? Did we stumble on her as she was about to take a bath), and the face gives me a feeling like she's a little shy and embarrassed. Granted I does look to me like the nose is a little squished on her face, like it lacks a bridge but that's a minor thing.

Thanks, man! I'm not sure if I understood the brush stroke part, but its a traditional japanese painting style... there's a deep philosophy on it (I'm not so familiar to), but for me is relaxing and maybe, because of that, it has this flowing aspect.
The sliping kimono is more like "draw something interesting". Like if I did not draw it, her presence would be boring and unnecessary, but by looking at her expression this gesture would fit. And yes, the ideia if she is undressing and she notice someone. Glad you also could imagine this setting!
A good thing about drawing on a poor paper is you can blame it for the flaws! My characters has small noses too.
Anyway thanks again for commenting and sorry for not responding earlier.

It looks good I think ^^ only downside is all the black-like mist that kind of eats away at the picture. A soft, clearer bg would've made a nice contrast with the sharpness of the tree, and made the character pop out more. I imagine her standing next to a pond or something, about to get undressed, and suddenly there's someone calling out her name...

Thanks, liss! If you refer to the purple area around Sayuri, ok, I take care next time... if you refer to the gray areas near the border, well they are wrinkles... the paper was horrible to paint with water based medium, felt like painting on toilet paper.
Glad you could imagine the setting! Thanks again!

Oh, yeah, I do mean the purple. Though I can understand how you had trouble with it considering the texture of the paper... XD
