Your sketches are so lovely. I'd love to visit at least half of these places and yes, only in America, there would be a place called Sugar Bowl, speaking of it, which state was it in if you don't mind my asking? I might want to visit it someday.

Wow. You were out here in AZ, and I didn't even know! You're lucky it wasn't smoldering hot yet.

Yeah I'd heard horror stories from your last summer! I enjoyed some beautiful weather last week in Sedona.

these are great, my favorite is the sugar bowl one, the pink really makes it standout. I was wondering, how you set yourself up when painting out n about? how large is your pallete, do you use a specific brand or qaulity? would be cool to get a picture or something of when your painting outside with watercolour and gouache, like how u got it all set up, I want to start getting out n doing these myself (i usually just sit in my back garden) but always think where will I sit, where will I put all my paints etc. guess you gotta look for that rite spot?

Thanks! And here's a pic of my setup: [link]
I don't know the brand (and it doesn't really matter). Just whatever I can get my hands on, really. Doing these quick studies outdoors is really my favourite way to learn, because you are forced to work quickly, and deal with onlookers (small setup helps though). To answer your question below, I take about 20 mins on each. If it doesn't come together by then, I consider it a failure and move on.

Thanks for replying, I think your 20 minute rule is a good one, I will practice that myself, cheers.
