My biggest painting (31 x 24 in, 80 x 60 cm) made with oil on wood and a lot of patience!The story behind will come very soon, but I'll be very interesting if you could tell me what you think is the story!

The story:
The Old Legend - The Story
When I was a child, my father used to tell me stories, stories about legends.
One night, he came back from a great battle, wounded, bleeding. I came to him.
He sat next to me, and looked at me with a serious and worried gaze : "I'm going to tell you one last legend, an old one."
I've never saw him this way, he was in hurry, like if this story was vital, like if I had to know it.
In a sacred forest, guarded by nature herself, was a sword. This sword was sealed by the roots of the old trees. You see child, the sword is supposed to contain the souls of all the great chief. It is fulled with great energy and power.
Many men and women came and tried to take the sword. But no one ever could.
As time pass, red flowers grew around the sword, representing the life of the ancient chief.
The duty of our clan is to protect the forest and the sword from darkness that others could spray.How...how do we take the sword? Why no one ever took it?You have t

Story? I think she is a dame blanche.
Her pleasure is to accost a young male passing through the woods, and demand of him that he dance with her. If he refuses, the sword in the ground flies of its own accord, and strikes him dead! Or at least disfigures him.
So she and he dance. If the guy tires and ceases to dance, the dame blanche casts a spell on him, and he is lost in the forest for seven days before he finds his way out.
But if the young male dances and the dame blanche tires first, then she must grant the young male one wish.
She met a young male passing through the forest. He dismounted from his horse and bowed to her most courteously. She explained to him the rules of the dance, and that he must dance with her or suffer the consequences of refusal.
He laughed. And he agreed to dance with the dame blanche.
From the forest as if by magic, music played. They danced merrily, she and he.
They danced until it was nightfall, and then they danced throughout the night, where the only light was moonlight filtering through the trees and sparks that glistened on the wings of fairies.
They danced until sunrise, and then danced throughout the morning. At noon, the music played faster and faster. And still they danced, whirling madly as if possessed!
Until finally, late in the afternoon, the dame blanche tired first, and letting go of his hands, she fell exhausted to the forest floor.
She asked him, "Who are you? No one has ever out-danced me before!"
He replied, "Milady, My name is Kmita, Banneret of Orsza, and I am courier to the King of The Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania. My duties take me on travel to the farthest corners of the Earth! I have crossed mountains and deserts and snow-covered steppes! So you see, dancing is nothing that can tax my endurance!"
In a quiet voice, she asked him what was his wish. Even if it took all her store of magic, she was honor-bound to grant it.
He looked at her and smiled gently. "My wish is that you take me for your husband, and marry me."

wow, amazing work
I loved the volume and colors. It's have so much details. Really impressive. ^^
And there are more elements in the composition, like the sword and a huge scenery. It's show a interesting complexity, very respectable.
But I need to say... the light direction is a little strange for me. Because the tree's shadows comes from back to front. But the character has lighting where should project shadows on herself and shadow where the lighting would reach.
It's the only thing that I didn't understand. Don't get me wrong, it's a awesome painting and I loved it

As for the light, the woman is in the very front of the painting, where another source of light come through a tree next to her. The trees you see are very far away, that's why!
But I understand that it can be not very understandable, I never wanted to make something perfect anyway, that's why it's art! ^^
