Description Cubes were created in TopMod and remeshed in MeshMan.
The scene is lit by a Sachform hdri.
Rendered in Vue 7 Infinite.
Took about 90 minutes to render.
I would love to hear what you think of it!

Thanks!

Matrix... it's been a long time man. You're still rocking the scene!! Love this render/model. I have been SO OUT OF IT. Like 4 years? Maybe more... Anyway, I am looking to get back into it... any new toys / tools I [must] have? Got 3DStudio Max 2014 and V-Ray 2.0 but have no idea if TopMod is still viable and this new KnotPlot looks cool but complicated.

So, MeshMan? must look into it

Cheers!

Great to see you're back!!!!!
Yeah, I've been out of it too. At least three years. Ducked back in here about a month ago to try and pick up where I left off. I've missed creating stuff.
Max and V-Ray sounds like a good combo! Really looking forward to seeing what cool stuff you come up with!
I'm going with Modo and Maxwell Render. Also using 3D Coat and Groboto. Lots to learn still.
After I re-render all my old Vue scenes I'm selling my license. I'm sorry to say I'm not too fond of Vue anymore or E-on as a company.

KnotPlot isn't really hard at all. Just has a clusterfuck for an interface, lol.
TopMod's always fun but it's a bummer on multi cores. Sad that it's not being updated at all.

Film at Eleven.

I hear you... so I got MeshMan, and I love it. If I only knew what to do with it hahaha. I have no clue ho to get the effect you got. Believe me, I wasted like 4 hours trying to! ROTFL!!

LOL! Damn man...I feel your pain. Honestly, I don't remember *exactly* how I did it but I have a pretty good idea. I'd be happy to send you note on how it was done in TopMod and MeshMan. I'll look into it this week.

Much obliged... I like the boxes and the little geometric protrusions... very appealing.

If you hadn't said this was lit with an HDRI I'd say it was a white area light and an environment/reflection map. Great use of HDRI.

HDRI=High Dynamic Range Image
Sachform is one of many companies that sells them.
Here's a link to their site: [link]

I find that to be rather interesting. I don't think I've seen anything quite like it.

Kinda cute in an odd way.

I don't get whey the little ones have sharp edges and the big one has smooth edges though?

Looks nicely real and smooth Topmod - MeshMan - Vue7, combo sounds unfamiliar for me (even I don't know MeshMan), then I can't say anything but result got nice quality
