Very interesting design. I see elements of the sovereign class in the saucer section while the rest of the ship has elements of intrepid and runabout. The only problem I see is there seems to be no torpedo launchers unless they retractable and hidden from view. It would be interesting to see how she would handle during a five year deep space mission or large battle situation.

I'm not saying its a bad design just appears somewhat realistic. I would add 1-3 connecting sections between the forward arc and the main portion of the vessel. That would answer the concerns of structural integrity and the unrealistic expectations that in order to go from "10 forward" to main bridge one must traverse around 1/2 of the circumference and then through main engineering. With the 1-3 (or at least two in a y configuration) transverse booms you could have the forward portion be treated much the the Galaxy class saucer section was originally intended and left with a pure tactical vessel that is halfway between intrepid and sovereign class in size and style.

Damn, I just love your ST designs. Full fo detail, simple yet rich in new elements-a logical evolution of known Starfleet spaceships. Great job. Ever considered making not newer, but older versions of ST ships? personally I would like to see your version of ENT time ships.

I haven't really thought of doing TOS era ships as I grew up with TNG. When the design for the NX01 came out I often thought about doing something in that era but completely different to the Akiraprise as I didn't think it was in keeping with that era. If I do do anything, I shall certainly post it up.

Fantastic work. 2400s by any chance? I see a lot of Intrepid, Sovereign and Insignia class vessels in there. It looks like a logical step that the ADSB would commission such a design.

Thanks Suptagtt - The design is loosely based on a diagram at the back of the TNG Technical Manual, touted as a replacement for the Galaxy Class at the time - so I suppose eventually it might have been a good replacement for the Sovereign class Enterprise E
