Description The second Gypsy Wagon, a little less circus-wagon, maybe a bit more gypsy. It too has the harness or the steps, and the door opens. No special lights. If you would like pots and pans, etc. for the sides, let me know. As I said, I have the interior, even though it doesn't fit inside. Go figure??

Let me know which, what angle, any lighting, a horse, whatever.

Dang! I really should put more effort into my examples. It was just to show you what I had! *shakes head* * resolves to actually render an artwork next time*

I must. But the funny thing I've found lately... When I do others, they rarely get used... Whereas the original continues to get used several more times. But I just think I must do others.

Well, keep doin' em! You make it look so easy! You have so much work out here! You must render all the time!

I do render very much of the time! I usually let a few fractals render overnight, unless they slow each other down too much. But I usually play with other things while a render works in the background. I give it a maximum memory useage in those cases. Then they take longer.

If you wanted something in particular, I could probably get something decent to you as an example in a half hour if all went well.

Now, the scenery takes MUCH longer to render. Seven, or eight hours is not uncommon for a higher definition piece. I can get a low-res piece up pretty quickly, but it wouldn't be any bigger than 600x600. For the 2000+ pixel images, you might as well figure on the next day...

cool, I knew you had to, with the volume of work you post! Oh, BTW, I have some photos up in my scraps. Just some fun stuff, and of course, some skies. I know they are not even close to professional quality, and I wasn't going for that. This is the first camera I have had in probably 20 years! So any pointers would be appreciated. I know most of them are grainy because of the settings, but thought if anyone wanted to use them to manipulate, they are welcme to.

I know how it is with the fractal thing! I have I have 512 meg of ram, and I forget how much video ram I have. My p c was built specifically for art and that is a big big help! Now I just have to become good enough to justify spending almost a thousand bucks for it!

I did the same, buying the computer. Only a few months after I bought mine, my wife's comp died. There was no way I could afford another grand, so I went to the local computer shop, and contracted for a used one. So now hers is better than mine, for about $750.

Ah! Even your old box got too old to upgrade? I actually had a PC compatible way back when...

A what? Aren't they all PC's? Compatible with what? HA! I upgraded to the RGB/VGA monitor. That's why the kids lose ALL of their data. They never knew when it happened once a week! Backups? Why? HA! I found a free re-release of ZORK, now ZORK 1...

I usually killed all mine by working, or playing them to death! Ever have the old Hercules graphics, I think they were called, grey screen with yellow/amber lettering? Ah, I have given my age away, right???

markopolio-stock In reply to Leanndra51 [2006-12-21 20:18:12 +0000 UTC]

Hercules graphics card and a 4mb hard drive? That soon got upgraded to 20mb? How could people write programs that fit in even 512k when photoshop uses more ram than we had storage space, on the hard drive?! Kids have no idea the work and play that got done with 32k, 64, 128, 512 memory. My first computer came with 32k. I went with the 300 Baud modem.

You are so right! You know, my daughter and her hubby don't believe that the "One small step" happened on the moon. Think about the technology it would have taken. I don't know how old you are, but I am 55. I remember watching about it at school. Being so overwhelmed with excitement. One of the main reasons my daughter doesn't believe it was possible is because of how precise the technology would have to have been to get man there, and back. It is a very valid argument. Can you imagine going to the moon and using 512k of memory? That is just damn scarry, okay?

I'm 45. They wish they had 512k! According to Wikipedia, the computers on the Apollo spacecraft, of which there were two, started with 15k ram! They were only later upgraded! Man went to the moon using a calculator! A calculator on a bottle rocket, it really was one giant leap for mankind!

It was a time of heroes. Brains and bravery. I'm going to write a poem over on markopolio. It's just that inspiring!

Dude... Have you read my stock rule?
Your vision. Your artistry. To your credit.
The baker doesn't credit good ingredients to his masterfully created cake. Neither will he bother using that which is inferior. And the miller knows, good flour is an art.

i am the least of us who can argue with a well constructed analogy ...even if it does buck my credit where credit is due rule ..lol

so be it ...you know i'm flexible ...so if you ever develop new theorem...you know where to find me ...lol

You do what feels comfortable to you. I'm a toymaker! Play! Think last about "Mark made the toys!"
For the renders, all I'm doing is posing them and rendering. Maybe change a texture here or there to something I like better, decent lighting. Most of this was actually created by a succession of other artists. One person made the wagon blank, another made the design textures, another made the morphs. Say I want it to be a plain wooden wagon, I change the textures that I want, or you want, with some of my own pictures of wood. See what I mean? Who up the line really deserves the credit? Maybe the person who wrote the program that all of this content is made for and using? Nope that's a team effort too!

So play! Be happy! Sorry, that's not an order. If you've been too happy lately, you can feel free to feel any other way you choose!
