Hey TeeJay,

Thanks for the comment.

For someone who is just starting out, it is really hard to give any suggestions because digital art is very broad. I suggest you look at a lot of art and see what speaks to you. Find a style/subjects, maybe a few, and try to figure out why you like them.

As for technique, this will take awhile. I suggest learning how to draw with observation. Just draw what you see, get good at being accurate. Learn about values( lots of tutorials online). Once you are comfortable with that, then move on to drawing with understanding. Study everything you draw and learn why they look the way they look. I also suggest you look up and learn the subjects of fundamental drawings. ( this will get you a long way!) Understanding drawing fundamentals, such as composition, focus, rhythm, harmony, and perspective will make your art look 1000x better, no matter how creative you are.

There is a lot to learn and there is no point in telling you everything because somethings just doesn't click until you reach a certain level. Good luck with your future art.

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, it actually helped.
But the problem is, there are so many tutorials online and there is so much influx of information, i dont know where to begin.
I pick up the stylus and think..maybe i'll try this method...or that and end up demoralized.
And i guess my style is fantasy styled. Something like Lord of the Rings and World of Warcraft. If that makes sense..?
I hope to be a concept artist someday.

Thanks again!

Yeah its tough. I recommend this website: www.ctrlpaint.com/library/

Follow it from start to finish. It covers the basics of digital painting, and goes over the necessary fundamental skills that are needed to make your digital art better. This will take a lot of patients and I suggest you do 6 hours "homework" for every 2-3 videos you watch. It will seem very boring at first but you have to fight through the pain.

Good Luck, and I am glad I can help!

Regards,

Mark
