Last one for tonight. I really love the pose here, and then I look at our faces, and it scares me.The Broken Dolls Shoot
This idea has been cooking for awhile. Those of you reading and following our fic "Our Time is Running Out" [link] will understand where this shoot is coming from. It's a stylized version of Rosary Park (if you're not reading the fic, I'm not giving it away). The basic premise behind this shoot is that Misa and Light and "B" are broken dolls. In the fic Misa has an array of Asian Ball Joint dolls, so they join us here in the photos (every single doll in these pix are male, I assure you, and if you don't believe me, I can show you their penises.
) There's themes of cross dressing and confused psychological identity throughout, hence why Light has B influences in his appearance (again, read the fic) and Misa, Light and B are all made up like dolls themselves--the make-up which you can't see so well in this particular shot, is modeled off of the painted faces of both BJD and porcelain / bisque dolls complete with hairline cracks in the surface--because these characters are terribly damaged. They're broken after all.Here:

This is so sad.. I don't know why. Misa is not even in the bigger picture for the future road I hope you will take your stories to. I was never a MisaxLight shipper, but this makes me think about the tragedy behind Misa. I guess I just don't have a good grasp on her choices. I have never been in love and I can't relate to ppl who hurt themself like this for another person.
Anyway, there is such a wonderful contradiction between pose - which seems intimate, soothing, protecting - and the sorrowful expressions. I admire you both for the feelings you put into the shots. This one is definitely one of my favorites of this shot.

Oh this...is just beautiful, but in a scary way. Misa looks totally broken, her expression dead to the world, but still holding a touch of sadness in her posture and eyes. And Maru....I don't think I've ever seen your Light look so...well, defeated. I'm half expecting you to burst into tears any second
I adore the contrast between your clothes by the way. Misa in her delicate looking little dress looks angelic, showing her retreat into the innocent, doll like state that is child-like. Light on the other hand is showing off his descent into the darkness that surrounds Beyond and L's world, which is personified by the black and tight clothing. All throughout Our Time we readers have seen how Beyond is affecting him, and I can really see that personified here

Look at those perfect doll faces...You two look so pretty and yet creepy. And the poses are just like the one BJDs usually take: realistic but a bit mechanical...Two cold stone statues.
