Description
The Golden Taint is a cursed affliction that befalls those who touch the cursed gold of Al-Saqr’s Lost Catacombs. Once infected, the victim becomes feverish and experiences an intense burning sensation in their veins, leading to a slow and agonizing death after three days. However, when the sun rises on the fourth day, the victim will rise again as an undead with golden eyes. Known as “The Tainted”, undead are humanoid in form, but their skin and flesh are withered and decayed, with exposed bone and sinew protruding from their bodies. The Golden Taint turns the victim into a twisted version of their former self, devoid of any sense of humanity or morality. These undead roam the desert towards the lost catacombs from which the curse originates, as if drawn by some unseen force to guard the treasure.
