This is lovely, but a very different atmosphere for you, my friend. Do you agree? Always excellent, of course, since you wouldn't know how to take a bad photo

Au contraire, dear friend, I do know how to take a bad photo. In fact, I'm extremely skilled at taking bad photos. I'm quite simply the best there is!
However, I do know a few photographers right here on DA (I have a list of their names, you see) who absolutely suck at taking bad photos!
KeldBach and harrietsfriend are on top of that list.

You're being too modest, Khuram. You certainly belong on that list too. And of course I also take bad pictures. I probably delete 90% of my shots and only post about 1-2% of the rest on dA. That's the great thing about digital photography; it doesn't cost you anything to fill up your memory card, so you can just try and try and try until you eventually get the shot you were striving for.

Keep up the good work, my friend. It's always a pleasure to see how the world looks like through your eye/lens

I have the right to disagree, Khuram. They have great galleries, but you are my personal favorite, and I don't mean that in any weird way, but I think you & Aneela know that by now. I just love your work. I may set up a personal worship site here...oh, no, damn, I am an atheist

Don't tell me you're listening to Simon and Garfunkel these days! Should you do so, then Homeward Bound surely is a good starting point.

Aye, you really have a way with colors. It looks like molten gold. But then, I've seen the works done in gold in the jewellery stores in Dubai, done by gifted artists from Pakistan and India, Hence, it's quite fitting that your artwork resembles theirs.

Beautiful, and very inviting indeed. I suspect the weather is still on the warmer side in Dubai; that could be a downer. 45 during the day? 33 during the night? Keeps you in sweat for sure.

Guilty as charged! Yes, I have been listening toΒ Simon and Garfunkel these days - how did you... ? Hey, have you guys been talking to Aneela?Β
Having my humble work compared to our supremely talented desi goldsmiths is a great honor - of which I'm truly not worthy, but I'm over the moon that you'd think that of me. Cheers, dear B!

The weather's actually improved quite a bit. Although I'm afraid to say it out loud for fear that I might end up jinxing the recent and rather pleasantly developingΒ meteorological changes on this side of the Arabian peninsula. I'm not superstitious, but as far as Dubai weather is concerned, I'm not taking any chances either.

No. We haven't been talking to Aneela, but I'm sure she's glad that you have given up on Boney M. BTW, only a few days ago, on youtube, Β I found the footage of a concert they have been given some two years ago or so. Old men for sure. But, hell, did they sing like angels? Yes, indeed they did. I was hugely impressed, an incredibly soulful performance it was. Too bad they actually rather dislike each other. But once they lock into a melody, a song, a groove, all obstacles are pushed aside. It is what art can do.

As the desis do with gold and precious stones, so do you with your camera. Intriguing, and sometimes mind-blowing work. So, the connection is there, and rightfully so.

I'm glad to hear that the Dubai summer bbq is set to low right now, even if this is rather unusual and will probably change from the low bad to highly worse without prior notification. Well, there's only so much the Sheiks can do for you. We had two heatwaves this summer, touching high thirties and brushing forty for days on end. Once your house has been heated up sufficiently, your bedroom would be heated up to 30 degrees at night. Since air-conditioning is rare here (it's meant to be in place for commercial buildings only, therefore helping to save energy and making nuclear power plants obsolete), these mosquito-ridden nights have bee a pain for sure. The next few days will be "stinkers" again (the Australian expression for exceedingly hot days), but after, we'll have to face max temperatures of 16, 17 degrees. Less than half of what we had before. This roller-coaster is quite trying. But, well, there is only so much the Swiss Government can do for you.

Let's hope those men onboard aren't working expats, or "bachelors" as we like to call them here, because if that is so, then I really hope that the home they're goin to isn't roughly the size of the boat they're riding on!
