Smaller than a kumru.Β
These were shipped here from India about 40 years ago and released in Dubai so they could thrive.
They also introduced the kumru to the region, around 5 years ago.Β
The kumru being the larger dove would occasionally attack the smaller brown ones, destroy their eggs and takeover their nests.
As a result the brown dove population is dwindling while the kumru is thriving.Β
