Description I used to live two houses up from an old antiques dealer named Summerfield. He hated to sell anything so his shop and house and garden and everywhere got filled up with objects. When he died the auction of his stuff took three days and that was only the better stuff.
After he died every one claimed to have been his friend and said how wonderfull a man he had been. In truth, no-one had much to do with him and generaly thought his was mad and that his garden ought to be cleared up.
This drawing was based on his garden ...
It makes a double page in my drawing book hence the faint mark down the centre where the pages meet.

Ohh my - fabulous drawing of course, but the story... How sad really! I bet his garden looked far worse than this picture depicts too! lol!

Beautiful detail, and I like the story behind it.

Your landscapes are incredible and I like how this picture has a story to it, though it's not a happy one. I like the boarder too, but I'm especially amazed by your textures again! The garden here seems almost magical with something in every corner to delight the eye...

I hope the man can rest in peace, too, maybe in his garden.

What a sad story, but wonderful drawing! I have been in places like this....they always have a kind of magical quality to them....as though some delightful treasure or door to an imagnary realm might wait just around the next corner or small break in a hedge.

lovely work, dear!

This is really good, I'd like to see it bigger so I can stare at the detail.
