I tried to get into the Blood C manga but after 12 chapters I thought it was terrible. And I say this as someone who liked The Last Vampire (even enjoyed the live action movie a bit) and ADORED Blood+.

Watch the final quarter of the anime series. There is a major twist that flips your whole perception of the plot and characters entirely. Its definitely worth the price of going through what you thought were the "week and dull" parts of Blood-C. Complete mind fuck! Plus there is a movie sequel called Blood-C: The Last Dark so look out for that when it come to the west.

I like this because this is how Saya should have been in Blood + and Blood C. I hate the way they sugar coated her in those series.

I believe that Saya from The Last Vampire preceded Saya from Blood+ (even if the art is different, the time line more or less follows the same path [although the published manga from The Last Vampire changed Saya's oringin]); as of Saya from Blood-C, the events from The Last Vampire are mixed with Blood-C's past.

you see we can say that they are different version of the series , they are all the same girl (a vampire, vampire hunter)
the one in the middle is like the original from the old animated movie, then the one on the right is from the series and we can say the one on the left is like from the next part of the series
