Description Lili and Sprull
Felling small and alone, a woman trudged her way through a dark forest. Yet, she wasn’t completely alone. In her womb she bore a small child, not three weeks from arriving into the world. Hungry and weak, the woman stopped and sat on a fallen log to have her dinner. She grabbed her bag and took out a chunk of meat. Suddenly, strong hands pinned her arms behind her! Another hand stuffed a damp, ill-smelling rag in her mouth, stifling her scream. Her eyes rolled up into her head and she fell limp, sagging against the unknown man.  He was unusual. He had red hair with the tiniest hint of gray and extremely bright yellow eyes. “Men we have succeeded! The stray bird has been captured!” His men erupted into cheers, causing him to shush them quickly.
Lilin Kamonli was 15 and arguing with her father on the subject of her betrothed, Spayman Rull. “Father, I don’t feel ready for this! I don’t even know this man!” She complained.
“Lili, honey, this is all for you. I don’t want you stuck in the country your whole life. I would like to see one of my daughters married off into noble blood.” Spen Kamonli replied.
“Why didn’t you choose Keeli or Mano?”
He blushed. “T-they ran off before I could. Can’t you understand my position? I want my daughters to have a better life than I can provide. Lilin…”
Her father had such a pleading look on his face that she gave in. “I’ll meet him, but I don’t like this.” He gave her such a happy smile that she felt bad for arguing with him. Up the stairs she went to get ready for meeting with the dreaded Spayman. He was the Duke’s son and all the girls thought he was handsome. All except for Lili. She had no feelings for “Sprull” as he was so affectionately called. Sitting on her bed, she sighed, holding her baby blue party dress.
Why me? She thought. I really don’t want to meet this guy. What if he turns out to be a self-centered egomaniac? She shook her head.
“I’m not.”
Lilin whipped around to find Sprull sitting at her writing desk. “W-what? Where’d you come from?”
“My mother.” He answered calmly.
“THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT! I didn’t hear you come in my room. Did Father let you up?”
“Nope. I didn’t use the door.”
She looked over at the window. Did he come through there? No, he couldn’t have, I’d have heard him. What is he gonna do to me? She panicked, slowly backing away from him.
“Ok, no I didn’t come through your window, you wouldn’t have heard me if I did. You were completely lost in thought. And I’m not going to do anything to you so just relax!” He patted the bed next to him. Still not trusting the evasive Sprull, she sat down on the edge of Mano’s old bed.
Sprull sighed. “This is gonna be harder than I thought…” He muttered.
“Why…” Lilin started, but Sprull cut in.
“Am I here?  Where do I start…”
“How about how…”
“I know what you’re about to say? Easy. I can read your mind.”
Lilin recoiled in shock, almost knocking over her secondhand bookcase. “You can WHAT?”
“Read your mind. I could talk to you in it too,  once you’re trained.”
“Trained? In what? And you still haven’t told me why you’re here.” She narrowed her eyes at him menacingly.
He gulped. “N-now d-don’t get mad Lili. I’m the guy who’s supposed to take you to where you belong.”
SMACK! A pillow smacked Sprull on the side of the head, sending him to the floor. “I’m not marrying you… You arrogant pig!” She turned her back on him.
“Lili, listen to me. Please turn around! Come on… Thank you. Come here please. I want to show you something.” Lili looked at him warily, then reluctantly walked toward him. When she was a couple feet away from him, she stopped. “Take my hand. Don’t be frightened! There.” He patted her hand. “Hold tight!” Sprull reached into his pocket, and in a flash of blue light, they were gone.
“WHERE AM I? TAKE ME HOME YOU… YOU KIDNAPPER!” Lili’s face was so red, she looked like she was going to explode. Sprull thought she already did.
“Calm down, calm down! It’s ok!”
“NO IT’S NOT! Where am I?” You’re in EastWest-ville.”
“I’m in what? That’s not possible.”
“What do you mean it’s not possible? You were born here!”
“What? No I wasn’t. I was born in my Father’s house in Cormundy.”
“Nope. Your Father found you in the woods behind your house.”
Lili couldn’t believe it. “B-but then Mano and Keeli aren’t my sisters?”
“Nope.”
“Who is my mother? Where is she!” Lili has dreamed of finding her mother since she was five. “And who are you?”
Sprull sighed. “Come on. Let me take you to my place.”
For the first time, Lili looked around. Sprull had transported her to some dark alley. There was extremely foul smelling piles of trash everywhere. Yuck. She quickly whipped out. her handkerchief and pressed it tightly against her nose and mouth. “Father would be furious if he knew where I was!”
“Lili, Come on.” Sprull called. He was at the head of the alley, impatiently tapping his foot.
She quickly ran to him. “Ok where…”
“SHH!” He looked around worriedly.
“What? Are you a fugitive or something?” She whispered.
Sprull grinned. “Kind of. I’ll explain when we’re safe.”
“From what?”
“That.” He pointed across the street. The biggest, burliest man you had ever seen came walking out of the building.
“Oh I see what you mean!” She said, shivering.
“That’s not the half of it.” Sprull replied, letting lose a little shiver himself.
