Oh my goodness, she is absolutely stunning!Β
Bravo to you. You captured her beauty, femininity, strength, power, grace, dignity and so much more. Incredible... I am truly inspired and amazed...
Love the mandrill and the way he is looking up at her. It makes me think of Afrika and its precious animal kingdom.Β
Please how can I order a print?
Thank you.

I wish scenes like this could be seen in African movies or Nigeria movies

That would be great. It would be even better if people in Africa would make those movies. Nobody could translate better the culture, the costume or the way people live there than themselves.Β

I was about to ask what was up with the monkey, but I love this otherwise and the colors the details and the fact that with most of the pics I looked up for "African warriors" So may are wearing little to nothing.
I wanted to see how many actually were wearing Clothes!

The baboon is her pet. I can't tell you more than that as the client didn't detailed more this relationship.

She might be. From what I remember from her description I always had the impression she must be some kind of princess.

Are the Fayola a real people?

MatesLaurentiu In reply to SeekHim [2010-10-20 06:16:28 +0000 UTC]
No, Fayola is the name of the character but I do understand why you were lead to believe "Fayola" would be a tribe. The costume and colors 'tho are inspired by the Ndebe tribe which really exist.

She has a pretty name by the way.
Fayola means "Walks with honor."

Its quite possible the client knew that. I must confess I didn't but I think its a fitting name for her.

There is so much detail jampacked into this picture that I'm still noticing new things! Oh, and to this day, Mandrills still freak me the heck out!

They do look freakishly furious all the time and when they cry they are rather scary.
