If Ned's spirit could see this, he would come back from the dead and strangle Jaime.
(Not to say I don't like this, it's great.)

nope... i was beginning to think the same thing. every one I talk to is like "she misunderstood" and I don't understand... she's just a bitch most of the time

No. She is only ever rude to Jon Snow and as much as I love Jon I can understand that she doesn't feel motherly towards the bastard her husband fathered by another woman. Catelyn is noble and good and loves her children fiercely.

i do not doubt that, she does love her children but to me that does not change the fact that she contentiously made Robb look bad in front of his generals, which undermines he's authority. And the only thing that jon did was be born which is not Jon's fault.

I guess you didn't actually read the books because Catelyn is the one who reminds Robb not to lean on her for support too publicly to avoid undermining him and when she freed Jaime Lannister to save her daughters she imprisoned herself.
If Robb has taken her advice more than many things would be different for the better.

That is absurd. Catelyn loved her husband and was devastated by his death.

This is fantastic! And the costumes are super-spot-on. This is the best version of this take on their dungeon scenes.

Very nice, but on this they almost look like a couple in love, that is what bugs me a bit, but nice painting anyway ^^ I like Jaime with a beard!

The looks in their eyes and the expressions on their faces are just right...as always. The shadows are so effective. And this really reminds me of something Catelyn thought when she approached him, about how there was no man as golden and perfect as Jaime Lannister or something? She looks very ladylike and strong with grief while he's still proud enough to jape at her in chains. perfect.

I didn't understand this picture when I first saw it. This is the first time I've come across it since reading that part of the book and I understand the scene.
I think this picture is like ILyons said, evocative and so intimate. I too really like the use of light and shadows. Lovely piece of work

The lighting is fantastic, really dramatic, and the rugged contrast of Jaime with the haughty cleanliness of Catelyn is really striking - one thing I would say is that Jaime still looks very healthy in this picture, well muscled etc, whereas he was meant to be quite scrawny by that point, but still, gorgeous piece!

Thank you ever so much, both for your compliment and your constructive crit. I am very glad you like the painting in general. I agree with you on Jaime's healthy look. I must admit it's due to lack of skill that I failed to represent his scrawny, bad healthy. I apologize for that.
