sigh... for every hundred idiots that are like "triforce!!!!yayyy!!!" there is one genuine thinker, holding their head and wondering why everyone has to think of games/tv/films instead of looking for the artistic message within.
great sacred geometry piece, very well done.
brilliant use of bright colour and stark, dark contrast.

@*simonpark82, Sigh... For every asshole that gets on his high-horse every time someone acknowledges that they see something they recognize in other's art, and it triggers a chain of thoughts making it comparable to something they've seen before. One which specifically makes an emphases on the same MASSIVE ass symbol in the center of the piece, just like what they're referring to. Thanks for calling me a genuine thinker, though.

@Artist: *Slow-clap* O_O Merkaba... she's breathing divine light? Breathtaking-heh. I really wish I could do art like this myself. Some art you can just glance at and move on,but pieces like this really grab my attention and make me think. I've been trying to work symbolism into my most recent pieces, but have yet to make it actually appealing(to myself). You sir/ma'am, have done just that. ^_^

simonpark81 In reply to DeadontheLeftSide [2011-12-03 13:58:10 +0000 UTC]

When an artist is actually trying to put symbollism into their work, it is nice to actually hear that people understand the piece, instead of the usual glut of messages saying "oh wow, thats pretty" because while this is positive it is missing the point.
as a symbollic artist myself, [link] i was trying to show the respect the artist deserves by pointing out that while some may recognise this as the symbol from an eighties game series, others will see this as the symbollism of trinity...of sacred geometry...of both the world and everything in it.

That's also what the Triforce symbolizes in The Legend of Zelda, pretty much. Not saying that I don't see the symbolism and awesomeness in this piece, but the "triforce" in the center definitely caught my attention as the Hylian relic AT FIRST. That's just what caught my attention, I just had to take a double-take.

I totally get where you're coming from though. There are a LOT of comments about the triforce, and it's gotten on my nerves too. But you can't really blame them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simonpark81 In reply to GrappleMace [2012-10-23 16:08:53 +0000 UTC]

i dont blame them, i just despair sometimes at how most of humanity thinks it has a right to stop learning at twenty... sacred geometry is very important in the understanding of the universe and its elemental build-up...
i guess i should just get off my high horse and realise not everyone wants to expand their consciousness in such ways.
...
and your absolutely right! the tri-force does indeed mean very similar concepts to its sacred geometric twin! however, the people just writing "zelda" or "tri-force" obviously dont really grasp the full meaning of what they say either i think.

O.O
and now for something completely different!

Fair enough, but just think about it for a second... I'm sure you know not everyone has experienced things the way the artist has in every way. I say that to say, while you may attempt to get a message across, it is subjected to the viewer's lens. Knowing that, it's understandable for someone to not be able to gather the "correct" message the artist is conveying, is it not? it especially makes sense to think this way in an increasingly atheist world.

On the other hand, I do get that it can be frustrating, but that's no reason to steam up. (=

i understand.. im afraid i get short tempered with mankind sometimes as a race, and this reflects in my writings and even just in normal day to day speech. its like a friend of mine taught me: what is on tv is not the problem; it is how people interpret what is on the tv- as everyone interprets everything they see differently.

it just bugged me that i clicked on a piece showing connotations of sacred geometry and everyone was leaving comments about Tri-force.
you are right; belief systems are subjective, and while i would not nessecarily want everyone to know all i know i would definately say it still upsets me that the whole world seems so childish sometimes.
I was only brought to deviant in the first place under the impression that here was THE place to sell art, to find work as an illustrator or designer, and then found myself in the reality of DA....
so i guess im only just cooling down over that too, now its obvious you cant make money from this website. as a father i find myself in the very unenviable place of being very stressed every day, trying to get my art noticed while trying to find some dead-end work in an economy thats falling down around my ears. i apologise for any offense; it wasnt intended to be construed that way.

Apology accepted...No hard feelings what-so-ever. Actually, You seem like a genuinely open-minded person. I can see why you might feel that way sometimes, and I hope you find a way over the life-hurdles you mentioned.

On the economy/stress thing... Don't let the stress conquer you! I can't help but say this to everyone, but if the current paradigm you are apart of is forcing you into those types of dilemmas...There's probably a problem with it BY DESIGN. IMHO, We're in somewhat of a second enlightenment period in America. You really shouldn't have to bend over backwards and fight for the scraps of paper that are floating around pretending to be worth something...You're the money, not the paper. What do you need?...a house? food..? Well maybe you should look somewhere else? This system is BEYOND a joke, and this world wide economic drama is a joke, but it's affecting real people.

I'm 20 and I realized it's time to wake up! To Grow my own food, build my own home, and help others out too!...and I think home-schooling is extremely important. Maybe you having more time not at a dead-end job is a blessing in disguise? You just have to think outside, inside, and around the box these days to see what's real.

Sorry if I turned this into something completely off-topic, but I wish you and your child the best.

ha ha! you talk like me berating youngsters here on DA about the folleys of waisting their life watching tv!!
bravo, bravo!!
i like you. there are not enough peoplope out there that can tell the difference between what is needed and what is wanted-
i am in the process of spiritual enlightenment myself- though the path is a lot longer than you may think. you cannot achieve true enlightenment at 20, but the fact you are aiming is the key factor. I have been walking a spiritual path for over ten years and the greatest realisation anyone can make i my experience is to admit they know nothing and start from there. i would love to grow my own food (england wont allow that; you gotta rent an allotment of land at mega-high price to grow your own food.... beneath the hundreds of chemtrails being laid everyday over the entire country.
funny to hear the high and mighty approach from some stranger, telling ME of all people that money is worthless.
i am one of england's truth seekers and spreaders my friend. you're watched now on principle. the system is run on false idols(money, war, politics)and the greater percentage of the population are wasting their lives watching other people make money on tv while spending their own to do so-ohmygodwhathappened? the world has shifted on its axis and now the moon strangely waxes and wanes from top to bottom instead of left to right, as it did for millenia- i never said i want a dead end job, i said i am forced to search for deadend work while trying to become an artist...which is hard slog, governer. sometimes i just feel like ranting over things, and when i remember every day that millions of whales and fish are beaching themselves, birds are falling dead from the sky, and puffins are pushing their babies off cliffs. animals are rampaging and i FEEL the paradigm shift happening, so i keep staring all around me and seeing these idiots going "woo!2012!end of the world!yeah!!" and i gotta hold my head and take deep breaths. even the so called "truthers" are focusing too much on the politics, on the wars, on the very things they are trying to distract mankind with!
as for being off topic, dont mention it- its wonderful to find others that know the world is more than they are taught in school. good call sir.

LOL I like you too, sir!ILLEGAL TO GROW FOOD IN ENGLAND?!!?!? What nonsense -___- How did they even BEGIN to explain that law? Over here it's quite the opposite... In fact you can legally seize land once you've begun to grow food until it's harvested...lol. They will deem you a "potential terrorist threat," though... which means potential indefinite detainment... Our govt. just passed a bill that shits on our so-called rights, and I'm afraid we're(as a whole) lying down doing nothing about it as of right now. I'd love for this to be handled diplomatically, but my peers are as chickens would be when beheaded. :T

It's nice to speak to someone else who can use words like "chemtrail" who lives across the world... Lets me know a) Hey, even people across the world are looking up and saying "what? why?" , but sadly, b) They're everywhere. HAHA @ the axis comment... My friend has an insider at NASA and I heard that from him, too.

You're right though, I still have an ego that needs some humbling. I didn't mean to be too assertive, excuse me if I was ^^ and yea, I tend to focus a tad of my time on politics, but I very much would like to just let that beast die by mass boycott. It's all a joke to me anyways though, just like public school education

Yea...So, you all are experiencing about the same things we are over here, right? Protests, crazy laws, tons of propaganda, etc?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simonpark81 In reply to DeadontheLeftSide [2012-01-18 14:32:44 +0000 UTC]

lol i dont just use words like chemtrails, i actually check into things like infowars and rediceradio.com to find out what the governments say they are putting in these things..
the axis shifting i knew was coming but have only just seen the effects; the sun and moon look different in the sky now, and this isnt just because i am getting older and looking at things differently. as a spiritualist i look out to the moon regularly, and have noticed it now waxes from top to bottom instead of left to right, the very reason the western world writes from left to right. and i so wish i had an insider at nasa, though of course they are small fry compared to the american space agency. there are already human nations beyond earth; just like galileo saying the earth was round-just because there is no definitive proof, does not mean that things are not happening. to call something a conspiracy is not paranoid; it is to say there are those who conspire. as for the ego, its always good to be humble but also important to remember you are the most important thing in your own existence, and the most powerful creature that can ever reside within your own head.
as for politics...
as colin andrews says (the scientific researcher who coined the term "crop circle", who i am now befiending) the world can only work if we restart the entire system from scratch, and every world government must at the same time create a department of peace.
[link]
and yes, that means propaganda to rival the movies during 'nam, odd law changes and political unrest are just as rife in every country right now. its a mass conciousness shift, happening to the whole world as one. just because it looks like most people are lost to the cause, doesnt mean its not just another system of control. and soon all systems of control may become defunct.
and yes, the modern schooling system is a damn joke.
as i was told in maths class: there are lies, damn lies, and statistics.
