While I think it is indeed stupid that Dick let a little kid fight crime... Batman does the same thing. Many times over. Even after vowing to never do it again he does it again and again. One of the reasons he didn't scold Dick for letting Damian in this dangerous game is for the reasons everyone is trying to rationalize it. In "Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul", Talia scolds Batman for trusting Damian with a dangerous task (I forgot what task that was). Batman replies by saying "He's trained. I expect from him what I expect from Dick and Tim. No son of mine can do any less." or something like that. Face it, all this pic does is make Bruce look like a huge hypocrite instead of humorously making Dick look like an idiot.

Agreed! I'm mean just because Dick started fighting crime around the same age as Damian didn't make it right. Don't get mean wrong, I love the idea of Batman and Robin but something like this is just child-abuse.

But what's worse? Letting a ten year old who has been trained by assassins, with an insane blood thirst, run around continuing what his mother had been turning him into, or taking his training and channeling it for positive results? There's no way they could have taken that kid and forced him into a school and a regular life to become a "real boy". Dick did it to keep him close and hopefully mold him into something good, which he's slowly been accomplishing.
Though the argument could be made that it was essentially what Bruce had attempted with Jason, and we all saw how that turned out... but still, the intent behind it makes perfect sense, given the alternative.

Thank you! It drives me nuts about Dick and Alfred letting this 10 year-old run around as Robin. I don't care who his parents are or how well-trained he supposed to be, (Not very well by my opinion, how many times he has been shot?).
And I don't want to hear about how old Dick was when he started. You would think his experience would make him know better and I would have expected him to. I guess the writer doesn't know the characters as well as he thinks he does.
Okay, I'm done. Getting off my soapbox.

Uh... you do know that Dick was EIGHT when Batman first let him go out as Robin, right? They may mess with the age when retelling the story (I know Miller had him at 12 in All Star), but he was eight. Batman can't really throw stones here.

That 10 year old is the grandson of Ra's al Ghul with thrust for blood to match so Dick training his little brother like their father wanted isn't really all that hard to believe. And it's better then what Bruce did to Spoiler.
