Description Kawka/Jackdaw (Corvus monedula)

Uhm, not much to say. Just something that started as a painting from photo exercise and then started to live a life of its own. For my corvidae series... or the rotting remains of it.


Here's the photo: [link] (not sure if any other form of credit is needed). Don't look at it for similarity, I deviated a lot from it.


It was actually finished for months, just couldn't bring myself to upload it. And no, I'm not really back to painting. I wish I was...

Simply beautiful.
Personally, I really love the balance between the muted dark and pale colours and the smokey feel of the darkest shades.
Also I find it wonderfull how there is a burst of light and energy coming from the figure and yet it doesnt disturb or unbalance the general calmness of the piece, really beautiful blend throughout the over all piece of energy with the burst and the flow of the hair and the rush of 'wings', and the general 'settled' statue like pose of the subject.

W żółwim tempie- zapomniałaś dodać. Rozwijałabym sie nieco wolniej i zaczęłabym się cofać (chociaż wcale nie jestem pewna czy tak sie nie dzieje)...

Miałam taki pomysł żeby zmotywować się do działania umieszczać różne VIPy na blogu... ale szczerze to skonczyło się na jednym wpisie... nawet go nie propagowałam. Ale może jednak wrócę do tego pomysłu.
