I live in a boarding house close to my university. As the term's just about over, many people are moving out and quite a few things are being thrown away or left in the common areas for people to scavenge as they will. Most are worthless items like 2006 calendars or raw eggs that have been sitting at room temperature for several days--but not all.

When I came to the kitchen to make dinner this evening, I came across this scene, and I felt like taking a picture. Maybe it's just me--I owned a decent number of stuffed animals in my salad days--but it's a sad scene. Not quite Pulitzer-level pathos, but a bit of a downer nonetheless.

And no, I'm not going to take the stuffed animal. God knows where it's been.
