Posting two month late, but since I've somewhat participated in this year's 2017 Inktober and it was an enriching experience for me, I thought I'd share the result.
I decided to stick with the official list, which to be quite honest, started promising but went on to be a bit uninspiring later on, so self reminder for next year to have a look at other options, or rethink the themes in advance.

For the prompt of Day 6 - Sword, I decided to draw one of my characters, Malik and his ice longsword. Malik is part of the main group of my story. He's the second in command of the Kingdom of Nara's forces. A proficient water magic user, he has a affinity with the ice state of it, a technique not dominated by many, which he has infused into his sword. Malik is from the northern mountains in the border of the kingdom, so I always associate him with furs.

What lesson I've learned: Mixing cold and warm values of grey can be interesting. Leaving the blue pencil lineart and letting the copic wash it and still have an hint of that colour can be interesting. Using graphite on top of copics can be interesting. Saturating the paper with too much ink, can be interesting but also dangerous.
What I like about it: The chainmail, the fur. Textures. Even though they could be better. Stuff to practice more in the future.
What I hate about it: Proportions seem a bit weird, but can't really put my finger on it. Also, god damn scanner eating shades of black on his hair, can make things look so crude when it wants to....

Medium: Copic black multiliners, Copics, graphite pencils and a blue pencil for lineart.
