Background

Betahny was a pretty normal college student. She wanted to become a fashion designer, having had a creative spirit since she was a child. Her life was pretty normal all things considered. Then things took a turn for the extraordinary. One night while hanging out with some friends, she caught witness to someone trying to mug a woman. She tried to help and distracted the man long enough for the woman to escape. However she ended up pinned and was about to be shot. But then a strange light engulfed the area, knocking the the man. Next thing Bethany knew, she was in a blank void. A woman in a white dress materialized before her. Her name was Aurora and she was once a great hero who used the power of the light to vanquish great evil. She believed that Bethany was worthy to carry on her legacy. Bethany had a hard time processing this and tried to argue that she wasnt the right choice. However Aurora had none of it and bestowed the power of the light upon her. When Bethany awoke, she was changed. Her physical abilities and been augmented, making her stronger, faster and more durable. She also could control light itself, able to blast people and conjure weapons made of the light.she also had the knowledge to use it which surprised her at first as she never used a weapon before. Bethany was not sure about being a hero, feeling herself too ordinary. Then that changed when she was attacked by a woman named Teigra. She wanted the power for herself as she felt she was the only one who could use it properly. Bethany tried to fight but was outclassed. Teigra told her to surrender the power to her and that she wasn't worthy of such a gift. But Bethanu refused, not wanting such a villain to wield this gift. In that moment she unleashed a powerful blast that temporarily knocked out Teigra. However it also destabilized the building they were in. Lucky Bethany managed to get everyone out before it collapsed. Despite the crowd and law enforcement, Bethany managed to sneak away. The experience showed her that she couldn't just pretend to be normal. She knew that Teigra would be back and that other villains would be around causing mayhem. Bethany realized she can be more than an ordinary woman, she could help others and inspire them to be more than they are. So that day, she became the Heroine, madame light!

Personality
Bethany is a sweet, upbeat girl who tries to be optimistic. She is often the one who brightens the room and makes people feel better. Bethany is also quite clever, using her powers in unique ways to win fights. Bethany also loves designing clothing, even helping her fellow heroes modify their costumes. She can also be quite stubborn, not willing to back down and admit defeat. This can be good or bad, depending on the situation. Bethany can also be rather insecure about herself as she isn't sure if she's worthy of her powers which can pop up on defeats. To combat this, she can be quick to challenges or fights which can make things worse if she isn't careful.

Enhanced physiology: Due to the powers of the light, Bethany is much stronger than a normal Human. She can lift up to 40 tons, run faster than a normal human and tank many physical blows

Power of the light: with this power, Bethany can control light itself. She is able to blind foes, create light in dark areas, create light blasts and conjure light constructs which take the form of many weapons

Martial artist: Bethany is an adept martial artist, able to put up quite a fight. She is alo a great swordswoman, able to use many weapons

Weakness

While Bethany can take physical damage well, she is not immune to bullets. A few shots can kill her if she isn't careful. Bethany also struggles against opponents who use darkness as it can affect her powers if it's too much for her to handle. She is also not as experienced as her fellow heroes which means she has a lot to learn still.
